The new IEC-lock power lead design provides a simple way of securing a power lead to any electrical appliance that uses an IEC type mains lead.

As with most good designs the IEC-lock's patented locking mechanism is beautifully simple. The lead is simply connected to the appliance as any other IEC lead.

Once the lead has been fitted the IEC-lock mechanism locks it to the appliance, ensuring that the lead cannot become accidentally disconnected.

The C19 to C20 locking power cable that eliminates accidental and vibration disconnects of IT equipment.

The reliability of physical power distribution in data centres depends to a large degree on the how well the power cords have been secured. When maintenance or configuration work is being performed, the cords connecting active IT hardware and the power source or PDU (Power Distribution Unit) can often be accidentally dislodged or even completely disconnected. This can lead to system disruptions or even total failures of productive hardware. What is particularly aggravating is that fixing these kinds of disruptions is time-consuming and, depending on how long it takes, can be very expensive but most aggravating of all is that these problems and risks could have been prevented in the first place if a power cord with integrated locking mechanism had been used from the outset.

The power cords with integrated locking mechanism are available for all C19 or C20 plugs and for special country configurations. The zLock Dual Sided IEC Locking Cable is the first truly universal C19 to C20 locking power cable that is 100% compatible with existing plugs and receptacles! The dual locking cables simply replace existing power cables and eliminate any accidental and vibration disconnects. They do not require a special mating plug or receptacle in order to have a secure connection.
