Support for IPv6 management and configurations ensures your network remains protected after the upgrade from IPv4 to IPv6. By offering multiple management options, the DGS-1510 Series allows quick deployment, infrastructure expansion, and seamless function upgrades. Built for small and medium-sized businesses, the DGS-1510 Series provide functionality, security, and manageability for a fraction of the standard cost of ownership.

Depending on whether linear or fault-tolerant ring stacking is implemented, users can use one or two 10-Gigabit SFP+ ports to create a physical stack. 6 units or 288 Gigabit ports can be configured for a stack using optional direct attach cables to provide high bandwidth on the DGS-1510 Series with cost efficiency. Users can mix any models from the DGS-1510 SmartPro series in a single stack to allow simultaneous and easy configuration, management and troubleshooting.

DGS-1510 series supports virtual stacking via D-Link's Single IP Management (SIM), allowing up to 32 devices to be managed via a single IP. This simplifies management of small workgroups or wiring closets while allowing the network to be scaled to handle increased bandwidth demand. SIM not only reduces the number of IP address needed in your network but also allow switches to be stacked together over Ethernet instead of using physical uplink or stacking ports. This eliminates the need for any specialised stacking cables while at the same time removing the distance barriers that typically limit your topology options when using other stacking technology.

These switches are equipped with a complete lineup of Layer 2 features including IGMP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree, and Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP). The IEEE 802.3x Flow Control function allows servers to directly connect to the switch for fast, reliable data transfer. At 2000 Mbps Full Duplex, the Gigabit ports provide high-speed data pipes to servers with minimum data transfer loss. Network maintenance features include Loopback Detection and Cable Diagnostics. Loopback Detection is used to detect loops created by a specific port or VLAN and automatically shut down the affected port or VLAN. The Cable Diagnostics feature, designed primarily for administrators and customer service representatives, can quickly discover the type of error on cables and determine the cable quality.

The DGS-1510 Series supports Auto Surveillance VLAN (ASV) and Auto Voice VLAN, which are best suited to VoIP and video surveillance deployments. Auto Surveillance VLAN is a new, industry-leading technology built into D-Link Smart Switches.

Depending on whether linear or fault-tolerant ring stacking is implemented, users can use one or two 10-Gigabit SFP+ ports to create a physical stack. Six units or 288 Gigabit ports can be configured as a stack using optional direct attach cables to provide high bandwidth on the DGS-1510 series with cost efficiency. Users can mix from any of the DGS-1510 SmartPro series in a single stack to allow simultaneous and easy configuration, management and troubleshooting.

Flexibility and scalability

The DGS-1510 series supports virtual stacking via D-Link's Single IP Management (SIM), allowing up to 32 devices to be managed via a single IP. This simplifies management of small workgroups or wiring closets while allowing the network to be scaled to handle increased bandwidth demand. SIM reduces the number of IP address needed in the network and allows switches to be stacked together over Ethernet instead of using physical uplink or stacking ports. This eliminates the need for specialised stacking cables and removes distance barriers that can limit topology options when using other stacking technology.

Extensive Layer 2 features

The DGS-1510 series switches are equipped with a complete lineup of Layer 2 features including IGMP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree, and Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP).

QoS, bandwidth control

The DGS-1510 series supports Auto Surveillance VLAN (ASV) and Auto Voice VLAN, which are best suited for VoIP and video surveillance deployments. Auto Surveillance VLAN is a new, industry-leading technology built into D-Link Smart Switches. This technology consolidates data and surveillance video transmission through a single SmartPro switch, sparing businesses the expense of maintaining expensive dedicated hardware and facilities. ASV also ensures the quality of real-time video for monitoring and control without compromising the transmission of conventional network data. The Auto Voice VLAN technology enhances VoIP service by automatically placing voice traffic from an IP phone to an assigned VLAN. With higher priority and an individual VLAN, these features guarantee the quality and security of VoIP traffic. Furthermore, the DSCP markings on Ethernet packets enable different levels of service to be assigned to network traffic. As a result, these voice and video packets take precedence over other packets. In addition, with Bandwidth Control, network administrators can reserve bandwidth for important functions that require more bandwidth or might require high priority.

Secure your network

D-Link's innovative safeguard engine protects the switches against traffic flooding caused by virus attacks. The switches also support 802.1X port-based authentication, allowing the network to be authenticated through external RADIUS servers. In addition, the Access Control List (ACL) feature enhances network security and helps to protect the internal IT network by screening ingress traffic based on MAC or IP addresses. The DGS-1510 series includes ARP Spoofing Prevention, which protects from attacks on the Ethernet network that may allow an intruder to sniff data frames, modify traffic, or bring traffic to a halt altogether by sending fake ARP messages to the network. To prevent ARP Spoofing attacks, the switch uses Packet Control ACLs to block invalid packets that contain fake ARP messages. For added security, the DHCP Server Screening feature screens rogue DHCP server packets from user ports to prevent unauthorised IP assignment.

IPv6 ready

The DGS-1510 series is IPv6 ready and supports various IPv6 functions such as MLD Snooping, IPv6 ACL/QoS, and IMPBv6 to ensure seamless integration of next generation networks. The DGS-1510 series also supports a IPv4/v6 dual stack function that allows the switch to act as a bridge between IPv4 and IPv6 networks. Finally, all DGS-1510 series are certified to be IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 2, which guarantees interoperability for IPv6 environments.

Versatile management

The DGS-1510 series provides a D-Link Network Assistant Utility and a web based management interface that enables administrators to remotely control their network down to the port level. The D-Link Network Assistant Utility allows customers to easily discover multiple D-Link SmartPro Switches within the same L2 network segment. With this utility, users do not need to change the IP address of their PC. It also simplifies the initial setup of the SmartPro Switches. Switches within the same L2 network segment that are connected to the user's PC are displayed on screen for instant access. This allows extensive switch configuration and basic setup of discovered devices including password changes and firmware upgrades. The DGS-1510 Series also supports D-View 6.0 and a fully featured Command Line Interface (CLI) via dedicated out-of-band console port. D-View 6.0 is a Network Management System that allows for the central management of critical network characteristics such as availability, reliability, resilience, and security. CLI management of the switches is possible via console port and Telnet interfaces. This makes it possible to adjust basic settings, passwords, configuration files, and firmware with ease.

Layer 3 traffic management

The DGS-1510 series supports advanced traffic management features, including static routing. In static routing, IP routes are manually entered into a routing table, which allows for communication between different user groups in different VLAN segments in a network. The switch can directly handle inter VLAN routing using multiple interfaces, making the network run faster and more efficiently. Because the switches can manage internal routing, the network router can be assigned to handle external traffic routing only.

Energy saving

DGS-1510 switches are capable of conserving power without sacrificing operational performance or functionality by using D-Link Green 3.0 technology. Using the 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standard, the network will automatically decrease the power usage when traffic is low with no setup required. For environments not fully supporting the standard, DGS-1510 switches offer advanced power-saving settings including port shutoff, LED shutoff, and system hibernation based on custom scheduling profiles.

ARP spoofing prevention prevents malicious intruders from sending massive fake ARP messages through a manipulated source. This protects important data from being stolen by man-in-the-middle attacks, and prevents wasting CPU cycles on these packets. For added security, the DHCP server screening feature blocks rogue DHCP server packets from user ports to prevent unauthorized IP assignment.

Easier maintenance, less downtime. Support for STP, RSTP, and MSTP provides redundant links, prevents network loops, increases network reliability and minimises downtime for essential applications. These switches can even withstand temperatures between -5 to 50°C. Dual software images and configuration files allow the switch to quickly change between firmware versions and configurations to minimise downtime 10G connections Each switch in the series has four 10G SFP+ ports, which allows the most suitable media type to be chosen and mitigates network bottlenecks. The flexible uplink connections in both 1G/10G speeds deliver on data-intensive tasks.

Optimised for Video Surveillance D-Link’s exclusive Surveillance Mode provides a Web UI designed for video surveillance: it gives you an instant snapshot of your topology, makes features easy to access, and simplifies management of your surveillance network. Layer 3 Lite Including IP interfaces, IPv6 Neighbor Discovery (ND), ARP-Snooping Prevention, IGMP and MLD Snooping, LLDP and LLDP-MED. The DGS-1250 series also includes IPv4/IPv6 static routing capabilities for a scalable and more efficient network. QoS The series supports 802.11p Quality of Service to deliver data to devices based on the priority and type of traffic, and bandwidth Control to reduce unwanted network broadcast traffic. And the Auto-Voice and Auto-Surveillance VLAN features allow voice and video traffic to be automatically identified and prioritised.

Security down to the port level. The D-Link Safeguard Engine helps protect against malicious traffic flooding the network in the event of a malicious attack. The series supports IMP-Binding which is an easy method to control nodes during IP conflicts and auditing issues, and it prevents ‘ARP spoofing’ and 'man-in-the-middle' malicious attacks.

Network security is further reinforced with ARP Inspection, DHCP Snooping, and a host of security and authentication features such as 802.1X port-based authentication, port security for 64 MAC addresses per port. The series also includes network protection functionalities like Access Control List, and DHCP Server Screening that only allows legitimate DHCP Server IP addresses on specific ports.

Fewer wires, more PoE power. All DGS-1250 series PoE switches support IEEE 802.3af/at with a high PoE power budget of 370W. This means more power to remote devices through single Ethernet cables without needing nearby power outlets, and results in faster and easier PoE deployments of VoiP phones, wireless APs or network cameras..

Network management options to suit your business. The DGS-1250 series comes with the intuitive D-Link Network Assistant (DNA) utility for which simplifies the discovery of all devices using the D-Link Discovery Protocol within the same L2 network segment and displays them on screen for instant access. Simultaneous configurations and basic setups of all discovered devices, including password changes and firmware upgrades, can then be done easily.

The series can also be managed through the web-GUI that has 11 selectable languages, or the free, SNMP-supported D-View 7. Each switch includes a dedicated console port, and the full CLI1 provides more control, precision and repeatability.

1 Full CLI support available at end 2019 via firmware update.

DGS-1510 switches are capable of conserving power without sacrificing operational performance or functionality by using D-Link Green 3.0 technology. Using the 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standard, the network will automatically decrease the power usage when traffic is low with no setup required. For environments not fully supporting the standard, DGS-1510 switches offer advanced power-saving settings including port shutoff, LED shutoff, and system hibernation based on custom scheduling profiles.

DGS-1510 switches are capable of conserving power without sacrificing operational performance or functionality by using D-Link Green 3.0 technology. Using the 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standard, the network will automatically decrease the power usage when traffic is low with no setup required. For environments not fully supporting the standard, DGS-1510 switches offer advanced power-saving settings including port shutoff, LED shutoff, and system hibernation based on custom scheduling profiles.

Centrally Managed from the Cloud The Cisco Meraki Cloud Networking architecture enables plug and play branch deployments and provides centralised visibility and control across any number of distributed locations.

The Cisco Meraki MS is the industry’s first cloud managed switch, combining the benefits of cloud-based centralised management with a powerful, reliable access platform.

With cloud management, thousands of switch ports can be configured and monitored instantly, over the web. Provision remote sites without on-site IT, deploy network-wide configuration changes, and easily manage campus and distributed networks without training or dedicated staff.

Virtual Stacking Meraki MS Switches feature virtual stacking — an industry first — that allows management of thousands of switch ports as one, without requiring a physical connection between switches.

Quickly find and configure switch ports across your entire network, even those in geographically-distributed locations. Easily configure ports for access devices, assign voice VLANs, control PoE, and more, with a few simple clicks and without complex CLI instructions.

Virtual stacking is built-in to all Meraki MS Switches, with no need for extension modules, proprietary cables, or extra configuration. Simply log in to the Cisco Meraki dashboard and manage the entire access switch infrastructure without concern for their interconnectivity.

Layer 7 Application and Client Visibility Meraki MS Switches are the industry's only switches featuring integrated Layer 7 application and client fingerprinting and analysis. Hundreds of applications are automatically identified and reported, from business apps to BitTorrent and YouTube, so administrators can see where resources are spent.

Device fingerprinting with Google-like search allows administrators to easily find and identify individual users, iPads, Androids, and other devices. Search for devices across the entire network right from the Meraki dashboard, no matter which switch a device connects to.

Layer 3 Scalability & Failover Quickly scale growing networks while ensuring redundancy for critical switch infrastructure with Meraki layer 3 switches. Intuitive, dynamic routing configurable in the dashboard simplifies management by removing complex command line interfaces. Traffic flow is optimised at line rate without sacrificing deep visibility into client devices and application use. Deploy ACLs directly on MS switches to secure boundaries between VLANs, hosts, services, and the Internet.

In addition to dynamic routing, layer 3 Meraki MS switches support VRRP for warm spare failover, ensuring immediate recovery of gateway responsibilities—avoiding downtime and client disruption.

QoS for Voice and Video Deploy latency-sensitive applications such as voice and video by guaranteeing network performance. Voice and QoS features such as per-VLAN and protocol-based prioritisation, as well as flexible QoS assignments, give intuitive, granular control.

Intelligent use of LLDP on the network makes deploying devices such as VoIP phones painless. Simply select a VLAN for voice in the dashboard, and selected ports will accept tagged traffic on the voice VLAN. The port also uses LLDP advertisements to recommend devices use that VLAN for voice traffic.

Network Topology Meraki MS Switches include dynamic network topology that automatically maps network architectures, showing how Meraki security, switching, and wireless devices are connected.

Quickly see the status of the devices in your network, find specific devices by name or tags, see how many clients traverse links, and see where traffic flows over the network.

With 2 Gigabit SFP Ports

Powerful, yet Cost-Efficient

The D-Link DGS-1210 Series Smart Managed Switches are the latest generation of switches to provide increased Power over Ethernet (PoE) output, a range of physical interface types, multiple management interfaces, and advanced Layer 2 features. With all of these features combined, the DGS-1210 Series provides a cost-efficient and flexible solution for expanding any business network.

The DGS-1210 Series switches support 8, 24, or 48 10/100/1000BASE-T ports. Each switch also supports an additional 2 or 4 Gigabit SFP ports for optical connections using multimode or singlemode SFP transceivers.

24 x 10/100/1000BASE-T ports
2 x Gigabit SFP ports
Advanced L2 switching and security features
L2+ Static Routing
Optional “standard mode” or “surveillance mode” management user interface
PoE Support

Five of the nine models in the DGS-1210 series family support Power-over-Ethernet capabilities, simplifying deployments with IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points, and other powered devices. These models include the DGS-1210-10P, DGS-1210-10MP, DGS-1210-28P, DGS-1210-28MP and DGS-1210-52MP. Using the switch’s management interface, an administrator can control various PoE functions, such as remotely rebooting cameras or access points, from anywhere on the network, including over the Internet.

They also support time-based PoE, which allows administrators to set a time window that determines when each port’s PoE power is turned on and off. All PoE models support the IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards, and each PoE power budget varies per model.

Automatic Configuration

The DGS-1210 Series supports Auto Voice VLAN and Surveillance Mode, which allow voice and video traffic to be automatically identified and handled differently to regular network traffic. Auto Voice VLAN detects Voice over IP (VoIP) traffic and automatically segments it from the rest of the network, increasing security and allowing Quality of Service (QoS) to be applied.

Surveillance Mode detects compatible ONVIF cameras and places them in a surveillance VLAN, allowing a single switch to be used for voice, video, and data, removing the need for dedicated hardware and reducing maintenance costs. Surveillance Mode also includes its own Web UI, making surveillance features easily accessible and simplifying management of your surveillance network.

Comprehensive Security Features

D-Link's innovative Safeguard Engine helps protect switches against traffic flooding and virus attacks. 802.11X port-based authentication allows the network to be authenticated through external RADIUS servers. In addition, the Access Control List (ACL) feature enhances network security and helps to protect the internal IT network.

Extensive Management and Layer 2 Features

The DGS-1210 Series comes equipped with a complete lineup of L2 features, including IGMP snooping, port mirroring, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). The IEEE 802.3x Flow Control function allows servers to directly connect to the switch for fast, reliable data transfers.

The Series also supports advanced features such as static routing, which allows for communication between different user groups in different VLAN segments in a network. The switch can directly handle inter VLAN routing using multiple interfaces, making the network run faster and more efficiently. And, because the switches can manage internal routing, the network router can be assigned to handle external traffic routing only.
