The Extreme Networks QSFP-SFPP-ADPT QSFP+ to SFP+ Adapter provides a flexible way to repurpose QSFP+ ports for 10Gb connectivity. This physical adapter plugs directly into a QSFP+ port and allows a single SFP+ or SFP transceiver to be installed, enabling connectivity over lane 1 of the QSFP+ interface without requiring hardware changes to the switch.

Key Features of Extreme Networks QSFP-SFPP-ADPT QSFP+ to SFP+ Adapter Converts a QSFP+ port to accept a single SFP+ or SFP transceiver
Enables 10Gb Ethernet operation using lane 1 of the QSFP+ interface
Simple plug-in physical adapter with no configuration required
Supports optical SFP+/SFP transceivers
Ideal for maximising port flexibility on high-density switches
Flexible Port Re-Use The QSFP-SFPP-ADPT allows organisations to reuse existing QSFP+ ports for lower-speed 10Gb links. This is particularly useful when network designs evolve and port speed requirements change over time.

Lane-Based Connectivity When installed, the adapter maps the inserted SFP+ or SFP transceiver to lane 1 of the QSFP+ port. This ensures reliable and predictable 10Gb connectivity without the complexity of breakout cables.

Simple, Tool-Free Installation As a passive physical adapter, the QSFP-SFPP-ADPT installs directly into the QSFP+ port with no tools or software configuration required. Once inserted, the SFP+/SFP transceiver can be installed as normal.

Optimised for Optical Transceivers The adapter is designed for use with optical SFP+ and SFP transceivers, making it suitable for fibre-based 10Gb Ethernet links in data centre, aggregation, and enterprise environments.

Ideal for High-Density Switching Environments By enabling selective use of QSFP+ ports for 10Gb connections, the QSFP-SFPP-ADPT helps network designers maximise hardware investment and maintain flexibility in high-density switching platforms.
