In a modern data center environment there are many types of equipment with different requirements in terms of shape and size of the RS-232 console ports. The most typical examples are traditional 25 pin RS-232 (DB-25), 9 pin RS-232 (DB-9) and RS-232 on RJ-45 connectors as used by Cyclades, Sun, Cisco and other vendors. In order to address this requirement, Cyclades offers a comprehensive range of cables and adapters to allow the connection of any type of equipment to their range of Console Servers.
All of Cyclades' cables and adapters are compatible with RJ-45 wiring installations as used in data centers today and are designed to fit the standard console ports of servers, network equipment, modems and infrastructure equipment such as HVAC and UPS.

The Vertiv Avocent UMIQ-v2 Server Interface Module is designed for use with the Universal Management Gateway. This cable connects to the UMG using standard CAT5 cable and provides a VGA video and USB 2.0 interface for connecting to the server. The cable allows the administrator to use virtual media for remote ISO loads and troubleshooting as well as having smartcard/CAC authentication support.
The UMIQ module converts keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) and smart card signals from a target to digital IP data, enabling bi-directional control of the attached target by a remote user.
The module draws its operating power from the connected server over USB. The Avocent® Universal Management Gateway appliance provides stand-by power over the CAT5 cable, which keeps the module in a suspended state.
It is important that networking equipment is never used in the connection path between the appliance and the module since stand-by power will damage networking devices (switches/routers/firewalls).
The Avocent ADX IPIQ IP KVM provides high definition video performance for remote access to IT equipment. Supports up to 1920 x 1200 video resolution and works with the Avocent ADX RM1048P rack manager.
The ADX-IPIQ-400 comes with a VGA connector, has 2 x 10/100mb ports: one is for KVM traffic and the second is for connectivity to service processors. The IPIQ comes with LED lights for power and data traffic. It can be power from the host or via an external power adapter.
The Vertiv Avocent USB6000RX is a high performance USB extender receiver that enables you to locate your critical computing hardware away from the user work station whilst maintaining the original user desktop experience. It can transmit USB 2.0 over a single CATx cable or via a 1GB IP network. Once connected, operation is completely transparent to the host system, the USB peripheral(s) and you, the user.
There are no drivers or software to install and your USB devices work precisely as they did before; the only difference is that they are now up to 100 meters away from the host. The USB6000 is delivered in a zero config state so you can plug the units in and start working with them straight away. When supplied as pairs, they are already synchronized, so they will located each other automatically over your network.
