The S4A29A#AC HPE Networking Instant On Switch 1940 provides eight Gigabit Ethernet ports with Class 6 PoE support, giving small and growing networks a compact way to connect and power devices from a single switch. With two 1GbE SFP uplink ports, 20Gbps switching capacity and Layer 2+ capabilities with static routing, it supports wired connectivity for access points, cameras, VoIP phones, computers and other network equipment. Instant On cloud, mobile and local web management provides convenient access to configuration and monitoring, while built-in security features help protect network traffic and management access.
The eight RJ-45 ports provide autosensing 10/100/1000BASE-T connectivity for a range of wired network devices. Gigabit Ethernet supports high-speed connections for computers, printers, wireless access points, cameras, VoIP equipment and other compatible devices.
All eight Gigabit ports support IEEE 802.3af, IEEE 802.3at and IEEE 802.3bt Class 6 PoE. The switch provides a 124W total PoE budget, with up to 60W available from an individual port for compatible high-power devices such as wireless access points, cameras and IoT equipment.
Two 1GbE SFP ports provide additional uplink options for fibre-based network connections. These ports operate separately from the eight copper Ethernet interfaces, allowing the switch to connect with upstream network equipment over suitable SFP transceivers.
The switch provides Layer 2+ functionality with static routing for networks requiring more control over traffic between network segments. Features include VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, link aggregation, LLDP, LLDP-MED, IGMP snooping, QoS and port mirroring.
Network administrators can manage the switch through the HPE Networking Instant On Cloud Portal, mobile application or local web interface. These management options provide access to network configuration, monitoring and device administration without requiring a dedicated on-site management platform.
Security capabilities include TPM 2.0, automatic denial-of-service protection, access control lists, port security, VLAN-based traffic separation and management access controls. These features provide additional controls for protecting connected devices and network administration.
