The HPE S4A33A#ACC Instant On Switch Series 1940 provides 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports for connecting a broad range of computers, access points, phones, cameras and other network devices. Four dedicated SFP+ ports provide 1GbE or 10GbE uplink connectivity, while Layer 2+ features such as VLANs, link aggregation, access control lists and IPv4 static routing provide extensive network management capabilities.
The switch provides 48 autosensing 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports, giving connected devices access to Gigabit Ethernet networking. The ports support 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T standards, with automatic speed detection for compatible network equipment.
Four dedicated SFP+ ports support 1GbE and 10GbE connections for high-speed links to servers, storage equipment, aggregation switches and other network infrastructure. The uplink ports help provide additional bandwidth between the switch and other parts of the network.
Layer 2+ functionality includes VLANs, link aggregation, Spanning Tree Protocol and static IPv4 routing. Wire-speed inter-VLAN routing allows traffic between supported network segments to be handled directly by the switch.
Security features include IEEE 802.1X port access authentication, Access Control Lists, TPM 2.0, TACACS+ and AAA authentication and accounting. These functions provide administrators with controls for managing access to the switch and restricting network traffic.
The Instant On mobile application and cloud-based web portal provide tools for setting up, monitoring and managing the switch. Local web management and a USB-C console port are also available for direct administration and configuration.
