The HPE S4A32A#ACC Instant On Switch Series 1940 provides a versatile combination of Gigabit Ethernet and multi-gigabit connectivity for networks supporting modern wireless access points, IoT devices, surveillance equipment and other bandwidth-intensive hardware. It combines 20 Gigabit ports with four HPE Smart Rate multi-gigabit ports supporting speeds up to 2.5GbE, while four SFP+ ports provide 1GbE or 10GbE uplink connectivity.
The four HPE Smart Rate ports support 100M, 1G and 2.5GBASE-T connections, providing additional bandwidth for compatible wireless access points, IoT equipment and other network devices. The remaining 20 RJ-45 ports provide standard 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit connectivity.
PoE support is available across all 24 RJ-45 ports, with Class 6 PoE available on the four Smart Rate ports and Class 4 PoE on the 20 Gigabit ports. The 370W power budget provides capacity for powering compatible access points, cameras, phones and other PoE devices directly through network cabling.
Four dedicated SFP+ ports support both 1GbE and 10GbE connections, providing high-speed links to servers, storage, aggregation switches and other network infrastructure. These uplinks provide additional bandwidth for environments with substantial traffic between network segments.
The switch can be managed through the HPE Networking Instant On Cloud Portal, mobile application or local web GUI. Layer 2+ features include VLANs, link aggregation, static routing and inter-VLAN routing, while Direct Ops Commands and diagnostic functions provide additional administration and troubleshooting capabilities.
Security capabilities include TPM 2.0, TACACS+, AAA authentication and accounting, access control lists and management access controls. These features provide administrators with additional methods for controlling device access and network traffic.
