The Grandstream GWN7816 is a 48-port Layer 3 managed and stackable switch for medium-to-large business networks requiring high capacity and control. Forty-eight Gigabit RJ45 ports connect wired devices, while six 10G SFP+ ports provide high-bandwidth infrastructure links. A 216Gbps switching capacity, IPv4 and IPv6 routing, advanced traffic management, comprehensive security and flexible local, cloud and on-premise administration support scalable network deployment. One hot-swappable 70W power supply is included, with space for an optional second unit to provide 1+1 power redundancy and load sharing.

Key Features

Hot-Swappable Power Redundancy
The GWN7816 includes one hot-swappable 70W power supply and accepts an optional second 70W unit. Installing two compatible PSUs provides 1+1 redundant power and load sharing, with automatic failover helping to maintain network operation if either power supply fails. Individual power-supply status LEDs and fault monitoring support maintenance and troubleshooting.
Layer 3 Routing and Stacking
Static and dynamic IPv4 and IPv6 routing supports communication between network segments, with RIP, RIPng, OSPF, OSPFv3 and BGP available for different network requirements. Up to four compatible switches can form one logical stack for unified configuration and expansion, while link aggregation increases bandwidth and provides link resilience, including across stacked switches.
Network Segmentation and Traffic Control
Port-based, 802.1Q, MAC-based, protocol-based, Private and Voice VLANs provide flexible traffic separation, while QinQ supports more complex VLAN deployments. QoS prioritises important applications and controls bandwidth through traffic shaping and rate limiting. IGMP and MLD Snooping conserve bandwidth by directing multicast traffic only where required, while Ethernet, IPv4 and IPv6 ACLs control permitted and restricted traffic.
Secure and Flexible Management
Authentication, DHCP and DHCPv6 snooping, ARP inspection, IP and IPv6 Source Guard, port security and DoS protection help defend against unauthorised access, address spoofing and disruptive traffic. Local web, command-line, SNMP, GDMS Networking, GWN Manager and compatible GWN router management provide flexible administration. Power-supply, fan, CPU and memory monitoring, plus Ping, Traceroute, port mirroring, copper cable testing, RMON and Syslog, assist monitoring and fault-finding.
