The Grandstream GWN7721 is a 10-port Layer 2 Lite managed multi-Gigabit network switch for small-to-medium business networks requiring faster wired connections. Eight 2.5-Gigabit RJ45 ports connect compatible computers, servers, wireless access points and other network devices, while two multi-rate 10G SFP+ ports support compatible transceivers for high-speed links to other network infrastructure.
An 80Gbps switching capacity, 40Gbps non-blocking throughput and Layer 2 Lite traffic controls help manage demanding network activity. VLAN segmentation, QoS, link aggregation, multicast management and network protection features are combined with local, cloud and on-premise management options.

Key Features

High-Speed Multi-Gigabit Connectivity
Eight 2.5-Gigabit RJ45 ports provide increased bandwidth for compatible workstations, servers, network storage and wireless access points. The two SFP+ ports support compatible modules operating at 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps or 10Gbps, providing flexible connections to switches, servers and other network infrastructure.
The switch provides an 80Gbps switching capacity and 40Gbps non-blocking throughput, allowing all ports to handle high network traffic volumes without creating an internal switching bottleneck.
Layer 2 Lite Network Control
Port-based and 802.1Q VLANs can separate departments, services and device groups, with support for up to 32 active VLANs selected from 4K VLAN IDs. Link aggregation combines multiple physical connections to increase available bandwidth and provide connection redundancy.
STP and RSTP help prevent switching loops and maintain network stability if redundant connections are installed. DHCP snooping restricts DHCP traffic to trusted ports, while loop detection assists with identifying potentially disruptive connections.
Traffic Prioritisation and Multicast Management
QoS controls include port priority, 802.1p and DSCP priority mapping, SP and WFQ queue scheduling, bandwidth control and rate limiting. These options help administrators prioritise important applications and control how available bandwidth is shared between connected devices.
IGMP Snooping monitors multicast group activity and forwards multicast data only where required. Report message suppression reduces unnecessary control traffic, helping improve bandwidth use for applications such as video distribution and surveillance.
Flexible Management and Diagnostics
The GWN7721 can be configured through its local web interface or managed centrally using GDMS Networking, GWN Manager or the GWN App. SNMP supports remote monitoring and configuration management, while backup, restore and mass-provisioning options assist with ongoing administration.
Built-in Ping, port mirroring, copper cable testing and fibre-module monitoring tools help administrators investigate connection and performance problems. LLDP identifies compatible neighbouring network devices, while firmware signature verification helps protect the switch from unauthorised firmware files.
