The HPE S4A36A#ACC Instant On Switch Series 1940 brings high-speed Smart Rate connectivity to compact network deployments, with eight SR10 ports supporting speeds from 100Mbps through 10GbE. Four of these ports provide Class 6 PoE for compatible high-power devices, while two SFP+ ports provide 1GbE or 10GbE uplink connectivity for connections to higher-speed network infrastructure.
The switch provides eight Smart Rate RJ-45 ports supporting 100Mbps, 1GbE, 2.5GbE, 5GbE and 10GbE speeds. This gives compatible wireless access points, workstations, servers and other high-bandwidth devices access to faster Ethernet connections without requiring a separate access switch for different network speeds.
Four of the Smart Rate ports support IEEE 802.3af/at/bt Class 6 PoE, with a total power budget of 120W. This allows compatible devices such as high-performance wireless access points, cameras and other powered network equipment to receive both data and electrical power through Ethernet cabling.
Two SFP+ ports support 1GbE and 10GbE uplink connections, providing a high-speed path to servers, aggregation switches, storage equipment and other compatible network infrastructure. These uplinks complement the multi-gigabit access ports for applications requiring greater network bandwidth.
Layer 2+ functionality includes VLANs, link aggregation and Spanning Tree support, together with static IPv4 routing and wire-speed inter-VLAN connectivity. These capabilities allow network traffic to be segmented and routed between supported VLANs directly through the switch.
Network security features include TPM 2.0, IEEE 802.1X authentication, Access Control Lists, TACACS+, AAA authentication and accounting, and management access controls. These functions provide administrators with controls for device access, user authentication and network traffic.
The HPE Networking Instant On Cloud Portal and mobile app provide remote management and monitoring, while the local web GUI and USB-C console offer direct administration options. Direct Ops Commands, SNMP read-only cloud access and diagnostics provide additional tools for configuration and troubleshooting.
