Teltonika TRB145 RS485 to 4G LTE Cat1 IoT gateway

The Teltonika TRB145 is a compact LTE Cat 1 IoT gateway that provides 4G, 3G and 2G cellular connectivity through an RS485 serial interface. It enables remote communication with industrial equipment and supports protocols including Modbus and DNP3, making it suitable for connecting meters, controllers, sensors and other serial devices to cellular networks. RutOS provides networking, serial communication and management functions, while RMS support allows remote monitoring and administration.

LTE Cellular Connectivity

The gateway supports 4G LTE Cat 1 together with 3G and 2G mobile technologies, providing cellular connectivity for remote industrial equipment. A single internal 2FF SIM holder is provided, while an SMA connector is available for the external mobile antenna.

RS485 Communication

The RS485 interface provides a direct serial connection for compatible industrial equipment. The interface supports 2-wire and 4-wire communication, with configurable baud rates and options for full-duplex operation, allowing the gateway to communicate with a range of RS485 devices.

Industrial Protocols

Support for Modbus and DNP3 allows the gateway to exchange data with compatible industrial systems. Modbus functions include TCP slave, TCP master, RTU master, RTU gateway and Modbus over MQTT, while DNP3 functions can be used for supported serial communication applications.

Serial Over IP

The serial interface can be used to transmit RS485 data over IP networks. Serial Over IP supports client, server and combined connection modes using TCP or UDP, providing a way to access and communicate with connected serial equipment through a cellular network.

RutOS and Remote Management

RutOS provides the operating environment for network configuration, serial utilities and device administration. The gateway supports Web UI, CLI, SSH, SMS, SNMP, JSON-RPC and MQTT management methods, while Teltonika Remote Management System support provides remote monitoring and administration capabilities.

Digital I/O and USB

Two configurable digital input or digital open collector output interfaces are available through the four-pin power connector for connecting compatible external equipment. A Micro USB interface provides a virtual network connection for device communication and configuration.
