Teltonika RUTX08 Gigabit Ethernet Router

The Teltonika RUTX08 is a Gigabit Ethernet router with four 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports, including one WAN port that can be configured as LAN and three dedicated LAN ports. It combines wired network connectivity with a quad-core processor, 256 MB RAM and 256 MB Flash storage, while RutOS provides routing, firewall, VPN, monitoring and network management functions. Support for protocols such as BGP, OSPF, RIP, MQTT, Modbus TCP and GRE allows the router to work with a range of networking and industrial communication systems. A 9–50 VDC power input, aluminium housing and optional DIN rail mounting make it suitable for industrial installations.

Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity

The four RJ45 Ethernet ports provide 10/100/1000 Mbps connectivity for wired network equipment. One port operates as WAN by default and can be configured for LAN use, while the remaining three ports provide LAN connectivity. Auto MDI/MDIX support allows connected Ethernet devices to negotiate the appropriate connection without requiring crossover cables.

Routing and Network Management

RutOS provides a range of routing features, including static routing, policy-based routing and dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPFv2, RIP and EIGRP. VLAN support allows up to 128 port- or tag-based VLAN configurations, while VRRP and other network services provide additional options for managing connected networks.

VPN and Security Features

The router supports a range of VPN and tunnelling technologies, including OpenVPN, IPsec, PPTP, L2TP, GRE, DMVPN, SSTP, WireGuard and ZeroTier. Firewall functions include port forwarding, traffic rules, custom rules, NAT and DMZ, while additional security features help monitor and control network access.

Industrial Communication

Support for MQTT, Modbus TCP, BGP and GRE allows the router to communicate with networking, monitoring and industrial equipment. The digital input and digital open collector output provide additional options for connecting external control or monitoring equipment.

USB and Remote Management

A USB 2.0 Type-A port can be used with supported external devices and services. The router also supports Web UI, CLI, SSH, SNMP, JSON-RPC and MQTT management interfaces, while compatibility with the Teltonika Networks Remote Management System provides remote monitoring and administration capabilities.

Industrial Installation

The aluminium housing measures 115 x 32.2 x 95.2 mm and supports optional DIN rail mounting. The router accepts a 9–50 VDC power input and operates from -40 °C to 75 °C, allowing it to be installed in a wide range of industrial networking environments.
