The Teltonika SWM282 is a managed PoE+ network switch that provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports with power and data delivery alongside 4 SFP ports for fibre connectivity. It combines Layer 2 switching with Layer 3 networking features, supporting VLAN segmentation, dynamic routing, QoS, network security and industrial protocols for managing a wide range of connected equipment.
The switch provides 24 RJ45 Ethernet ports supporting 10/100/1000 Mbps connections, with auto MDI/MDIX crossover support for straightforward device connections. Four SFP ports provide additional fibre interfaces for uplinks and network links where longer cable distances or fibre infrastructure are required.
All 24 Ethernet ports support IEEE 802.3af PoE and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ using Alternative A. Each port can supply up to 30 W, while the switch provides a total PoE power budget of 300 W. Individual port PoE management allows connected powered devices to be monitored and controlled through the switch interface.
The SWM282 combines managed Layer 2 switching with Layer 3 networking functions. VLAN, STP, RSTP and loop protection features help organise network traffic, while static IPv4 and IPv6 routing and dynamic protocols including BGP, OSPF v2, RIP v1/v2 and EIGRP provide additional routing capabilities.
Support for PROFINET, MRP and EtherNet/IP allows the switch to be integrated into industrial networking environments. PROFINET Class B conformance is available with the applicable optional order code, while MRP supports both client and manager roles.
Traffic management features include port, DSCP, 802.1p and TOS priority settings, with SP, WFQ and WRR scheduling methods. Rate limiting, storm control and port-based traffic shaping provide further control over bandwidth and network traffic, while port mirroring can be used for monitoring and diagnostics.
The switch supports 802.1X port-based network access control, MAC filtering and VLAN separation. Authentication options include pre-shared keys, RADIUS and TACACS+. SNMP v2 and v3, LLDP, WebUI and the Teltonika Networks Web API provide several methods for monitoring and managing the network.
The SWM282 provides 56 Gbps of non-blocking bandwidth and a forwarding rate of 83.33 Mpps. It includes a 512 KB packet buffer, an 8K MAC address table and jumbo frame support for packets up to 10,000 bytes. Diagnostic tools include cable diagnostics, ping, traceroute and nslookup.
Teltonika RMS provides remote management functions for the switch, including firmware and configuration management. The SWM282 is shipped with two years of RMS Management, providing access to remote monitoring and administration features.
