The HPE Networking Instant On Switch 8p Gigabit 4p CL4 PoE 65W 1840 provides eight Gigabit Ethernet ports with four ports supporting Class 4 PoE for powering compatible devices such as wireless access points, IP phones, cameras and other network equipment. With a 65W total PoE budget and up to 30W available per PoE port, it offers a practical combination of wired connectivity and device power for smaller network installations.
Eight autosensing RJ-45 ports support 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet, providing flexible connections for computers, printers, access points, IP phones, cameras and other network devices. Auto MDI/MDI-X and auto-negotiation simplify connection and speed configuration.
Four of the eight Gigabit ports provide IEEE 802.3at Class 4 PoE, with up to 30W available per port. The 65W total power budget allows several compatible powered devices to receive both network connectivity and electrical power through their Ethernet connections.
The switch can be configured and monitored through the HPE Networking Instant On mobile application, cloud-based web portal or local web management interface. These management options provide access to configuration, monitoring, firmware updates and network troubleshooting.
Layer 2 features include VLAN support, 802.1D Spanning Tree Protocol, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, loop protection, link aggregation, LLDP, LLDP-MED, IGMP snooping and port mirroring. These functions provide control over traffic segmentation, redundancy and network monitoring.
Built-in security capabilities include TPM 2.0-based security, automatic denial-of-service protection and global storm control. VLANs and traffic filtering can also be used to control access and separate network traffic.
