The HPE Networking Instant On Switch 24p Gigabit 4p SFP 1840 provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet connections together with four dedicated 1GbE SFP uplink ports for flexible wired networking. With Layer 2 switching features, VLAN support, traffic management and multiple administration options, it provides a practical platform for connecting computers, printers, access points, servers and other Ethernet devices across small and medium-sized networks.
Twenty-four autosensing RJ-45 ports support 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet, giving the switch capacity for connecting a wide range of wired network devices. The ports support automatic speed and duplex negotiation for straightforward deployment across mixed-speed networks.
Four dedicated 1GbE SFP ports provide additional uplink connections using compatible SFP transceivers. They can be used for fibre-based links or supported copper SFP connections, giving network administrators more flexibility when connecting the switch to other network equipment.
The switch provides a range of Layer 2 functions including VLANs, Spanning Tree Protocol, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol, link aggregation, LLDP, LLDP-MED, IGMP snooping and port mirroring. These features help administrators organise network traffic and manage connected devices.
Administrators can manage the switch using the Instant On mobile application, cloud-based web portal or local web interface. The cloud management platform supports monitoring and configuration across Instant On sites, while local management provides an alternative for networks that prefer direct device administration.
