The Teltonika TRB246 is an industrial 4G LTE Cat 4 gateway that combines cellular connectivity with Ethernet, RS232, RS485 and configurable I/O interfaces. Dual SIM support provides additional connectivity options with automatic failover and backup WAN functions, while the 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port provides a wired network connection for connected equipment. With support for Modbus, DNP3 and DLMS protocols, GNSS positioning and serial communication over IP, it can connect a range of industrial machinery, meters and monitoring equipment to IP networks.
The gateway provides 4G LTE Cat 4 connectivity with cellular download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps. It also supports 3G and 2G networks, providing additional mobile connectivity options. Two Mini SIM slots allow dual SIM configurations with automatic switching and failover capabilities.
The 10/100 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet port provides a wired network connection, while dedicated RS232 and RS485 interfaces allow communication with serial industrial equipment. Both serial connections are integrated into the 16-pin industrial terminal block, supporting communication with a wide range of legacy and current equipment.
The 16-pin terminal block includes three configurable digital inputs or outputs and one 0 to 30 V analog input. The digital connections can be configured as inputs or open collector outputs, allowing the gateway to monitor external signals or control compatible equipment.
Support for Modbus, DNP3 and DLMS enables communication with industrial and utility equipment. Serial utilities also provide Serial over IP functionality, allowing RS232 and RS485 devices to communicate across IP networks. Modbus gateway functions are available for connecting serial Modbus equipment to network-based systems.
GNSS support covers GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS satellite systems. A dedicated SMA connector is provided for the GNSS antenna, allowing positioning functionality to be incorporated into applications that require location information.
The gateway supports Teltonika Remote Management System for remote administration and monitoring. HTTPS WebUI and SSH provide local management interfaces, while SMS utilities are available when an active SIM is installed.
