The CAT100EARC is an Audio over CAT extender designed to distribute HDMI eARC/ARC or optical digital audio signals over long distances using a single CAT cable. Engineered for modern AV systems, it enables flexible audio routing while maintaining compatibility with high-bandwidth and multichannel audio formats.
The CAT100EARC allows installers to extend either HDMI eARC/ARC or optical digital audio signals depending on system requirements. Input selection is managed via a dipswitch on the transmitter, providing straightforward configuration during setup.
When operating in HDMI eARC/ARC mode, the extender supports audio transmission distances of up to 100m and enables CEC pass-through for compatible system control. This makes it suitable for TV-based audio return channel applications in residential and commercial environments.
For optical digital audio sources, the CAT100EARC supports transmission distances of up to 200m over CAT cabling. This provides a practical solution for long-range audio distribution where HDMI eARC/ARC is not required.
A built-in DAC converts either HDMI eARC/ARC or optical digital audio into a stereo left and right analogue output. This allows seamless integration with analogue audio systems when using 2-channel PCM sources.
The extender supports bitstream passthrough of multichannel surround sound, including object-based audio formats, in line with HDMI specifications. This ensures compatibility with modern immersive audio systems without signal degradation.
Bi-directional Power over Cable functionality enables the transmitter and receiver units to be powered from either end of the link. This simplifies installation by reducing the need for power outlets at both locations.
