The CAT100AU is a digital audio over CAT5e/6 extender kit designed to transmit high-quality audio signals over long distances using a single CAT cable. Built for professional AV environments, it provides a reliable solution for extending both optical and coaxial digital audio while maintaining signal integrity and audio clarity.
The CAT100AU enables dependable digital audio transmission across extended distances using standard CAT5e or CAT6 cabling. It supports transmission up to 300m for lower sample rates, making it suitable for large venues, commercial installations, and distributed audio systems.
Both optical and coaxial digital audio inputs are supported and can be transmitted at the same time. This allows greater flexibility when integrating multiple digital audio sources within a single installation.
A built-in DAC allows either optical or coaxial digital audio to be converted into analogue stereo left and right outputs. The active source is easily selected on the receiver unit, simplifying system configuration and output routing.
The extender supports sample rates of 32kHz, 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 96kHz, and 192kHz with up to 24-bit resolution. Maximum transmission distances vary by sample rate, with support up to 100m at 192kHz, 150m at 96kHz, and 300m below 48kHz.
Designed with ultra-low jitter and high-fidelity circuitry, the CAT100AU preserves audio accuracy and signal stability, ensuring consistent performance in demanding professional audio applications.
