The Teltonika RUT976 is an industrial RedCap 5G router that combines 5G standalone connectivity with backward compatibility with 4G LTE Cat 4. It provides up to 223 Mbps download speeds over 5G RedCap and includes dual SIM connectivity with automatic switching, Wi-Fi 4, four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports, RS232 and RS485 interfaces, USB connectivity and multiple I/O options. With GNSS support, wide-ranging network management features and Teltonika RMS compatibility, it is suitable for industrial IoT, automation, remote monitoring and connected equipment installations.
The router uses 5G Sub-6 GHz standalone RedCap technology based on 3GPP Release 17. It supports download speeds of up to 223 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 123 Mbps, providing 5G connectivity for industrial and IoT applications that require low latency and moderate data throughput.
When a compatible RedCap 5G network is unavailable, the router can operate using 4G LTE Cat 4 connectivity. LTE performance reaches up to 195 Mbps download and 105 Mbps upload according to Teltonika's current technical specifications, providing continued cellular connectivity across supported LTE networks.
Two SIM slots provide access to separate mobile network profiles, while automatic SIM switching can respond to conditions such as weak signal, roaming, data limits, network availability and failed data connections. This provides additional flexibility when deploying the router across locations with varying cellular conditions.
Integrated Wi-Fi 4 operates on the 2.4 GHz band using IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards and supports up to 100 simultaneous wireless devices. Four 10/100 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet ports provide wired connectivity for industrial equipment, computers and other network devices.
The router includes RS232 and RS485 interfaces for communication with industrial equipment and serial devices. Multiple configurable I/O connections provide additional options for monitoring signals, controlling equipment and triggering network events.
A USB 2.0 Type-A port provides connectivity for compatible external devices, while GNSS support enables positioning and location-related functions. A MicroSD slot is also available on the device PCB for additional storage applications.
RutOS provides routing, firewall, VPN, monitoring and network management functions, while Teltonika RMS supports remote monitoring, configuration, administration and access. The router also supports industrial communication protocols including MQTT, OPC UA and Modbus.
