The Netgear XS512EM-200EUS 12-Port 10G/Multi-Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed Switch provides high-speed wired connectivity for networks requiring flexible 1G, 2.5G, 5G and 10G Ethernet connections. It features twelve 10-Gigabit/Multi-Gigabit copper ports and two shared 10G SFP+ ports for fibre uplinks, with an internal power supply and support for desktop or rackmount installation. VLAN, QoS, link aggregation and IGMP snooping features provide additional control over network traffic and connected devices.
The switch provides twelve copper ports supporting 100M, 1G, 2.5G, 5G and 10G Ethernet speeds. Automatic speed detection allows connected equipment to operate at its supported rate, making the switch suitable for upgrading networks with multi-gigabit devices and existing copper cabling.
Two shared 10G SFP+ ports provide flexible fibre connectivity for uplinks and network expansion. The SFP+ interfaces support compatible 10G optical modules while also providing backward compatibility with Gigabit fibre networking equipment.
VLAN support allows network traffic to be separated into logical groups, while IEEE 802.1p QoS provides traffic prioritisation. Rate limiting and priority queueing can help manage bandwidth for applications such as voice, video and other data-intensive services.
Static link aggregation and LACP allow multiple physical connections to be grouped into a single logical link. This can increase available bandwidth between compatible network devices while providing an alternative connection path if an individual link becomes unavailable.
The compact metal chassis supports both desktop and 19-inch rackmount installation, allowing the switch to be positioned on a workstation or installed within a network cabinet. An internal power supply keeps the power connection within the chassis and avoids the need for an external power brick.
IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet support helps reduce power consumption when network activity is lower. The switch also supports IGMP snooping for multicast traffic management and jumbo frames up to 9K for compatible high-throughput applications.
