The Ubiquiti U5G-Max is a high-speed 5G modem that brings cellular connectivity into UniFi network deployments through a 2.5 GbE Ethernet connection. It supports 5G NR, 4G LTE and 3G UMTS networks, with Nano-SIM and eSIM options for flexible carrier connectivity. Powered through PoE and supporting desktop, wall and window mounting, it can provide a fast primary or backup WAN connection for compatible UniFi gateways and consoles.
The modem supports 5G NR connectivity across a broad range of frequency bands, with peak 5G NSA download speeds reaching up to 3.4 Gbps. This provides a high-speed cellular WAN option for locations requiring fast internet access without relying solely on a fixed-line connection.
Support for a Nano-SIM alongside Nano-SIM or eSIM connectivity gives users flexibility when selecting a mobile network service. The modem also supports 4G LTE and 3G UMTS, allowing it to maintain cellular connectivity when 5G service is unavailable.
A 2.5 GbE RJ45 port connects the cellular modem to compatible UniFi networking equipment. The Ethernet interface provides a high-speed wired connection between the 5G modem and the network gateway or console.
The unit receives power through PoE, reducing the need for a separate local power connection at the modem. Desktop, wall and window mounting options are included, allowing the unit to be positioned where cellular reception is most suitable.
A 1.3-inch touchscreen provides a local interface on the modem, while the four embedded cellular antennas support the 5G NR, LTE and UMTS radio connections.
