The Teltonika RUTC42 is a dual-modem 4G LTE edge router that combines two LTE Cat 4 cellular modules with dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. It provides cellular failover and load balancing capabilities, allowing network traffic to be managed across two independent LTE connections. With a powerful processor, expanded memory, Docker support, USB connectivity, dual SIM capability and a range of RutOS networking functions, it is suited to applications where reliable connectivity and local data processing are required.
The router incorporates two independent 4G LTE Cat 4 cellular modules, providing two mobile connections that can be used for failover or load balancing. Each LTE modem supports download speeds of up to 150 Mbps, while 2G and 3G technologies provide additional cellular compatibility.
Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 connectivity operates across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. Multi-user MIMO provides wireless connectivity for multiple devices, making the router suitable for locations requiring both cellular and local wireless networking.
Five RJ45 Ethernet ports provide wired network connections for computers, industrial equipment and other network devices. The Ethernet interfaces can be configured within RutOS for different network roles and routing requirements.
The two LTE modems allow traffic to be distributed between cellular connections or transferred between them when connectivity changes. Failover and load balancing functions provide flexible ways to manage network availability and bandwidth across the two mobile connections.
The router combines a powerful processor with expanded memory and native Docker support for running compatible applications locally. Local application processing can reduce the need for additional computing hardware at remote installations.
A digital input and digital output are available for connecting external equipment, while the USB Type-A port provides connectivity for supported USB devices. The router also includes two SIM slots for managing cellular network connections.
RutOS provides configuration and management functions for routing, VPN connectivity, firewall policies, wireless networking and cellular connections. SSH and HTTPS WebUI access are available for administration, while SMS utilities provide additional management options when an active SIM is installed.
Teltonika RMS support enables remote monitoring and administration of compatible routers from a central management platform. This provides access to device status and remote configuration functions for distributed deployments.
