The Teltonika RUTC40 is a global 4G edge router that combines LTE Cat 4 connectivity with dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and extensive wired networking for industrial, retail, smart city and automation applications. It features a dual-core 1.3 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of eMMC storage, providing the computing resources needed for local data processing and Docker-based applications. With five Gigabit Ethernet ports, dual SIM capability, USB connectivity, GNSS support and flexible power options, it provides a versatile platform for connected installations and edge computing.
The router uses a Telit 4G LTE Cat 4 modem to provide global cellular connectivity, with supported LTE bands including B1, B3, B5, B7, B8, B20, B28, B38, B40 and B41. LTE performance reaches up to 150 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload, with 3G and 2G connectivity also supported on applicable networks.
Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 provides wireless connectivity across the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Multi-user MIMO technology allows the router to communicate with multiple wireless devices, making it suitable for installations where several connected devices need access to the network.
Five RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports provide wired connections for network equipment and connected devices. Two external Mini SIM slots provide cellular profile flexibility, while eSIM functionality is available on compatible versions and can provide additional options for managing mobile network profiles.
A dual-core 1.3 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 processor, 1 GB of DDR4 RAM and 8 GB of eMMC storage provide local computing capacity. Docker support allows compatible containerised applications to run directly on the router, supporting local processing and application deployment without requiring a separate computing device.
The RUTC40 includes a digital input and digital output for connecting external equipment and monitoring or control systems. A USB Type-A port provides connectivity for supported external devices, while GNSS support enables positioning functions for applications that require location information.
RutOS provides network management functions including routing, VPN, firewall and WAN management features. Remote administration is available through Teltonika RMS, giving administrators a way to monitor and manage connected routers from a central platform.
