The Teltonika RUT271 is a RedCap 5G cellular router that provides 5G standalone connectivity alongside backward compatibility with 4G LTE Cat 4. It combines 5G wireless networking with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports, making it suitable for industrial IoT, remote networking and connected equipment. With support for up to 50 simultaneous Wi-Fi connections, WAN failover and a compact aluminium housing, it provides flexible connectivity for installations requiring a balance between 4G and 5G capabilities.
The router uses 5G Sub-6 GHz standalone RedCap technology based on 3GPP Release 17. It delivers up to 223 Mbps download and 123 Mbps upload speeds, providing a cellular connection suited to applications requiring 5G capabilities without the full bandwidth requirements of conventional high-capacity 5G equipment.
When a compatible 5G RedCap network is unavailable, the router can operate on 4G LTE Cat 4. This backward compatibility provides continued cellular connectivity across locations where 5G coverage is limited or unavailable.
Built-in Wi-Fi 4 operates on the 2.4 GHz band and supports up to 50 simultaneous wireless connections. Two 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports provide wired connectivity, while Access Point and Station modes allow the router to operate in different network configurations.
WAN failover allows the router to switch automatically to an available backup connection when the primary connection becomes unavailable. This provides an additional layer of network continuity for connected equipment and remote installations.
The router includes one digital input and one digital output on the power connector, providing additional options for monitoring and controlling connected equipment. Its compact aluminium housing supports operation from -40 °C to 75 °C, making it suitable for a range of industrial environments.
