The Teltonika EBD021 is a Calyx 4G Embedded Cellular Raspberry Pi HAT+ that adds mobile connectivity to Raspberry Pi 4 and Raspberry Pi 5 systems. It provides 4G LTE Cat 4 connectivity alongside 3G and 2G support, with a Nano SIM slot, dual SMA antenna connectors and both USB Type-C and 40-pin header power options. Supplied without a power supply, it is suitable for embedded projects that require cellular connectivity alongside a Raspberry Pi.
The Calyx 4G module provides LTE Cat 4 connectivity with download speeds of up to 75 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps on supported LTE-FDD networks. LTE-TDD connectivity can reach up to 65 Mbps download and 35 Mbps upload, while DC-HSPA+ provides speeds of up to 42 Mbps download and 5.76 Mbps upload.
The HAT+ mounts directly onto a Raspberry Pi 4 or Raspberry Pi 5 through its 40-pin header, providing a compact way to add cellular connectivity to embedded computing projects. The module can be powered through the Raspberry Pi header or through its USB Type-C connector.
A push-pull Nano SIM slot provides access to the mobile network, while two SMA connectors allow external mobile antennas to be connected. The EMEA version supports LTE-FDD bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20 and 28, LTE-TDD bands 38, 40 and 41, 3G bands 1 and 8, and 2G bands 3 and 8.
The 40-pin header provides power and GPIO connectivity, including modem power control through the PWR_KEY interface. PCM audio support is also available, allowing the module to be incorporated into projects requiring cellular voice-related functionality.
The module supports 5 VDC through its USB Type-C connector and can also receive power through the Raspberry Pi 40-pin header. The product package is supplied without a power supply, allowing the appropriate power source to be selected for the Raspberry Pi installation.
