The Teltonika RUT981 is a global 4G LTE Cat 4 router that combines cellular connectivity with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and four Ethernet ports for flexible networking. It supports both physical SIM and eSIM connectivity, including eSIM profile management and bootstrap functionality, while WAN failover and load balancing provide additional options for managing network connections. Physical SIM and eSIM connectivity provide flexible options for establishing cellular service. Compatible eSIM versions support profile management through RutOS, while eSIM bootstrap functionality can provide temporary connectivity for downloading an operational provider profile without requiring an initial physical SIM connection.
Integrated Wi-Fi operates on the 2.4 GHz band using IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards. Four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports provide wired network connections for computers, industrial equipment and other devices, giving installations several options for connecting local equipment.
WAN failover allows the router to use a secondary connection when the primary connection becomes unavailable. Load balancing can distribute traffic between available WAN connections, providing additional flexibility when multiple network paths are in use.
