The Vision Dual VSD 2200 ER adapts easily to different installation environments. Designed for use as either a compact 2U rackmount UPS or a standalone tower unit, it provides deployment flexibility for server rooms, network cabinets, communications infrastructure, and business-critical IT applications. The removable display panel can be rotated to ensure clear visibility regardless of installation orientation.
The integrated Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) protects connected equipment from surges, overvoltages, and undervoltages without unnecessarily using battery power. This preserves battery life while ensuring the battery remains fully available during complete power failures. Additional EMI filtering provides enhanced protection against electrical noise, transients, and voltage disturbances.
When operating on battery power, the Vision Dual delivers a perfectly sinusoidal waveform. This clean power output ensures maximum compatibility with modern servers, network devices, storage systems, and sensitive electronics, maintaining operational continuity during mains power interruptions.
With efficiency levels reaching 98.5% and an output power factor of 0.9, the Vision Dual helps reduce operating costs and minimise energy losses. Its high-performance design maximises usable power while lowering heat generation and overall power consumption.
Dedicated EnergyShare outlets allow administrators to automatically disconnect non-essential devices during power outages. The VSD 2200 ER model is specifically designed for applications requiring longer backup times. Equipped with a more powerful charging system, it supports additional battery packs and can provide several hours of runtime depending on the connected load requirements.
Front-access hot-swappable batteries allow replacement without shutting down connected equipment. Additional battery management features include automatic battery testing and deep discharge protection, helping maximise battery lifespan and identify potential issues before they affect performance.
Vision Dual supports comprehensive monitoring and management through USB, RS232 serial connectivity, and an expansion slot for SNMP network cards. Included PowerShield3 software enables monitoring and automated shutdown across Windows, Linux, VMware, Citrix XenServer, Mac OS X, Hyper-V, and various Unix operating systems.
The backlit LCD display provides real-time information including UPS status, load conditions, battery performance, alarms, input and output measurements, and operational parameters. The rotating display design ensures optimal visibility in both rack and tower installations.
An integrated Emergency Power Off (EPO) contact enables remote shutdown during emergency situations. The Cold Start feature allows the UPS to power connected equipment directly from battery power even when no mains supply is available.

Superior protection
The automatic voltage regulator (AVR) provides protection from surges, overvoltages and undervoltages, without battery intervention. Reduced battery usage ensures that the battery set is 100% available for mains power supply failures and is able to provide greater autonomy. EMI filters then provide further protection from voltage surges and transients. When the mains power supply fails, the load is powered by the inverter and receives a perfectly sinusoidal supply for maximum power continuity and reliability
High availability
An EnergyShare socket allows loadshedding and the shutdown of less sensitive peripheral devices to extend battery runtime for critical loads. “Hot Swap” batteries can be removed via the front panel for easy and safe UPS maintenance. For business continuity applications requiring long battery runtimes, battery autonomy can be extended up to several hours using ER models (versions 2200 and 3000) fitted with more powerful battery chargers. Versatility
Vision Dual can be installed as a tower or in 19” rack cabinets. The display panel can be easily removed and rotated to suit the type of installation required. Riello UPS models have always been compliant with the highest levels of efficiency in terms of energy protection and are classified according to a scale with 6 levels, corresponding with the efficiency value of the UPS with respect to the European Code of Conduct; this is known as the Eco Energy Level.
The Eco Energy Level system demonstrates how the most efficient UPS provide energy savings that allow the cost of their purchase to be recovered quickly compared to standard efficiency UPS , as well as how their use leads to significant reductions in carbon emissions into the atmosphere.
