The Vision Dual VSD 1100 is designed to adapt to a variety of installation requirements. It can be installed as a compact 2U rackmount UPS within a standard 19-inch cabinet or used as a standalone tower unit. The removable and rotating display panel ensures convenient viewing regardless of the chosen installation format.
Purpose-built for protecting conventional and rack servers, storage systems, network switches, routers, and backup devices, the Vision Dual provides dependable power continuity during outages and protects against common electrical disturbances that can disrupt operations.
The integrated Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) protects connected equipment against surges, overvoltages, and undervoltages without engaging the batteries. This intelligent design reduces unnecessary battery usage, preserving capacity and extending battery life while maintaining consistent output power.
When operating on battery power, the UPS produces a perfectly sinusoidal output waveform. This clean power supply ensures maximum compatibility with sensitive IT equipment and modern power supplies while maintaining operational continuity during mains failures.
Integrated EnergyShare outlets allow non-essential devices to be automatically disconnected during power outages. This intelligent load-shedding capability preserves battery runtime for critical equipment such as servers, network infrastructure, and storage systems.
Batteries can be safely removed and replaced directly from the front panel without powering down connected equipment. This hot-swappable design minimises maintenance downtime and supports continuous business operation.
Battery testing functionality continuously monitors battery condition to detect deterioration before it impacts performance. Deep discharge protection further helps reduce battery ageing and maximise long-term reliability.
The Vision Dual includes USB and RS232 communications interfaces, plus an expansion slot for optional SNMP network management cards. PowerShield3 software provides monitoring and automatic shutdown functionality across Windows, Linux, VMware ESXi, Citrix XenServer, Mac OS X, Hyper-V, and other Unix-based platforms.
The backlit LCD display provides clear access to UPS status information, operating measurements, alarm notifications, load conditions, and battery performance. This allows administrators to quickly monitor system health and operational status.
An integrated Emergency Power Off (EPO) contact enables remote shutdown during emergency situations. Cold Start functionality allows the UPS to be powered directly from battery even when mains power is unavailable.

Superior protection
The automatic voltage regulator (AVR) provides protection from surges, overvoltages and undervoltages, without battery intervention. Reduced battery usage ensures that the battery set is 100% available for mains power supply failures and is able to provide greater autonomy. EMI filters then provide further protection from voltage surges and transients. When the mains power supply fails, the load is powered by the inverter and receives a perfectly sinusoidal supply for maximum power continuity and reliability
High availability
An EnergyShare socket allows loadshedding and the shutdown of less sensitive peripheral devices to extend battery runtime for critical loads. “Hot Swap” batteries can be removed via the front panel for easy and safe UPS maintenance. For business continuity applications requiring long battery runtimes, battery autonomy can be extended up to several hours using ER models (versions 2200 and 3000) fitted with more powerful battery chargers. Battery test facility to detect deteriorating battery performance. Deep discharge protection to reduce battery ageing.
Versatility
Vision Dual can be installed as a tower or in 19” rack cabinets. The display panel can be easily removed and rotated to suit the type of installation required. Riello UPS models have always been compliant with the highest levels of efficiency in terms of energy protection and are classified according to a scale with 6 levels, corresponding with the efficiency value of the UPS with respect to the European Code of Conduct; this is known as the Eco Energy Level.
The Eco Energy Level system demonstrates how the most efficient UPS provide energy savings that allow the cost of their purchase to be recovered quickly compared to standard efficiency UPS , as well as how their use leads to significant reductions in carbon emissions into the atmosphere.
