The NETGEAR A8500-100PES Nighthawk WiFi 7 Tri-Band USB 3.0 Adapter adds high-speed wireless connectivity to compatible Windows 11 PCs through a USB connection. Supporting 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands, it provides speeds of up to 5Gbps and automatically selects the appropriate wireless band according to the connected device and available network conditions.
The adapter supports IEEE 802.11be WiFi 7 across 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz wireless bands. It can provide up to 5Gbps of combined wireless speed, with the 6GHz band offering speeds of up to 2882Mbps. The shared tri-band configuration automatically selects the appropriate band for the connected PC.
The USB 3.0 interface provides a high-speed connection between the adapter and a Windows 11 PC, with NETGEAR specifying transfer performance of up to 10 times that of USB 2.0. The adapter can also operate through a USB 2.0 port when required.
Two internal high-gain antennas work with the flip-open antenna arrangement to help locate a stronger wireless signal around the computer. MU-MIMO provides two spatial streams on each supported band, while OFDMA allows compatible networks to transmit data efficiently to multiple devices.
