The CE FG-TRAN-SFP+SR Fortinet Compatible Transceiver provides 10GBASE-SR connectivity for compatible Fortinet networking equipment, using 850nm optical transmission over multimode fibre. It supports data rates of up to 10Gbps and a transmission distance of up to 300 metres, making it suitable for short-range fibre links between network switches, firewalls and other compatible equipment.
The transceiver uses the 10GBASE-SR standard with an 850nm wavelength for high-speed communication across multimode fibre. It provides a reach of up to 300 metres, with Fortinet documentation also listing 400 metres when used over OM4 multimode fibre.
A duplex LC connector provides the fibre interface for transmitting and receiving optical signals. The SFP+ form factor allows the module to be installed into compatible SFP+ ports on supported Fortinet networking equipment.
DOM support provides access to operating information from the transceiver, allowing compatible equipment to monitor optical and module parameters during operation. The module also supports hot-plug installation according to Fortinet's transceiver specifications.
