The CE FTLX8574D3BCV Finisar Coherent Compatible Transceiver provides dual-rate fibre connectivity for compatible SFP+ networking equipment, supporting both 1.25Gb/s 1000BASE-SX and 9.95 to 10.3Gb/s 10GBASE-SR/SW operation. Using an 850nm VCSEL transmitter and multimode fibre, it supports links up to 300 metres on OM3 fibre and up to 400 metres on OM4 fibre, with a duplex LC connector and built-in digital diagnostics.

Dual-Rate Fibre Connectivity

The transceiver supports selectable 1.25Gb/s and 9.95 to 10.3Gb/s bit rates, allowing compatible SFP+ equipment to operate with either 1000BASE-SX or 10GBASE-SR/SW connections. It is intended for 1G/10G SFP+ ports and 10G SFP+ ports rather than native 1G SFP ports.

Multimode Fibre Transmission

Operating at 850nm, the module uses an uncooled VCSEL laser for multimode fibre transmission. The specified reach is 300 metres over OM3 fibre and 400 metres over OM4 fibre, with shorter distances supported on OM1 and OM2 fibre.

Digital Diagnostics

Built-in digital diagnostic functions are available through a two-wire serial interface in accordance with SFF-8472. The SFP+ module also supports hot-plug installation and uses a duplex LC optical connector for transmit and receive paths.
