Automatic MDI/MDI-X support on all ports removes the need for crossover cables when connecting to another switch, and auto-negotiation on each port intelligently adjusts the port speed for compatibility with the connected device. With wire-speed filtering and store-and-forward switching, the DGS-1005P maximises network performance while minimising the transmission of bad network packets.

Power over Ethernet+

The DGS-1005P features four Gigabit Ethernet ports that support the IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at PoE, supplying up to 30 W on each PoE port and providing a total power budget of 60 W.

You can connect compatible devices to the DGS-1005P without using an additional power supply. This allows you to save on cabling and power supplies and to install devices on locations without immediate access to power outlets.

Green Technology

The DGS-1005P features green technology such as IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE), link status detection, and cable length detection.

EEE adjusts the power consumption of the switch based on network utilisation, reducing energy use during periods of inactivity. Link status detection powers down unused ports, saving power when connected devices are shut down or disconnected. Cable length detection adjusts the power output of the port based on the cable length, reducing the power requirements of the switch.

The first four ports of the DGS-1008P support the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard. Each of these four ports can supply up to 15.4 Watts, making it a very convenient solution for applications that are far away from power outlets, or when it is necessary to minimise the clutter of extra power supplies. The switch will automatically detect the power that a connected PoE device requires so no configuration is needed. A failsafe mechanism will cut off the power in case of an unexpected PoE overload, protecting both the switch and the connected device.

Cable diagnostics function

Every time the DGS-1008P is powered up, it runs a micro diagnostics routine to check the integrity of the connected Ethernet cables. If a failure is detected, the switch will flag it by means of its front panel LEDs, making it easy for the user to troubleshoot wiring problems.

QoS (Quality of Service)

Despite being an unmanaged, Plug and Play switch, the DGS-1008P is able to classify network traffic by assessing the existing 802.1p and DSCP fields in the Ethernet frames and IP packets respectively, and forward them out of its ports depending on their priority. This allows for a smooth integration of video, voice and data traffic without delays or loss of quality.

Power-saving technology

The DGS-1008P is part of D-Link Green™, D-Link's eco-friendly technology, providing energy savings, reduced power consumption, and a longer product lifespan without sacrificing operational performance or functionality. This switch implements the Green Ethernet technology, which can save a substantial amount of energy by detecting the connected cable lengths, adjusting the power accordingly; and the port status, putting them in lo -power, stand-by mode when no network traffic is detected. Thanks to these power reductions, we have been able to remove the fans in the DGS-1008P's design, making it completely silent and dramatically increasing its lifespan.

The Auto Voice VLAN technology enhances VoIP service by automatically placing voice traffic from an IP phone to an assigned VLAN. With higher priority and an individual VLAN, these features guarantee the quality and security of VoIP traffic. Furthermore, the DSCP markings on Ethernet packets enable different levels of service to be assigned to network traffic. As a result, these voice and video packets take precedence over other packets. In addition, with Bandwidth Control, network administrators can reserve bandwidth for important functions that require more bandwidth or might require high priority. 


Secure your network

D-Link's innovative safeguard engine protects the switches against traffic flooding caused by virus attacks. The switches also support 802.1X port-based authentication, allowing the network to be authenticated through external RADIUS servers. In addition, the Access Control List (ACL) feature enhances network security and helps to protect the internal IT network by screening ingress traffic based on MAC or IP addresses. The DGS-1510 series includes ARP Spoofing Prevention, which protects from attacks on the Ethernet network that may allow an intruder to sniff data frames, modify traffic, or bring traffic to a halt altogether by sending fake ARP messages to the network. To prevent ARP Spoofing attacks, the switch uses Packet Control ACLs to block invalid packets that contain fake ARP messages. For added security, the DHCP Server Screening feature screens rogue DHCP server packets from user ports to prevent unauthorised IP assignment. 


IPv6 ready

The DGS-1510 series is IPv6 ready and supports various IPv6 functions such as MLD Snooping, IPv6 ACL/QoS, and IMPBv6 to ensure seamless integration of next generation networks. The DGS-1510 series also supports a IPv4/v6 dual stack function that allows the switch to act as a bridge between IPv4 and IPv6 networks. Finally, all DGS-1510 series are certified to be IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 2, which guarantees interoperability for IPv6 environments. 


Versatile management

The DGS-1510 series provides a D-Link Network Assistant Utility and a web based management interface that enables administrators to remotely control their network down to the port level. The D-Link Network Assistant Utility allows customers to easily discover multiple D-Link SmartPro Switches within the same L2 network segment. With this utility, users do not need to change the IP address of their PC. It also simplifies the initial setup of the SmartPro Switches. Switches within the same L2 network segment that are connected to the user's PC are displayed on screen for instant access. This allows extensive switch configuration and basic setup of discovered devices including password changes and firmware upgrades. The DGS-1510 Series also supports D-View 6.0 and a fully featured Command Line Interface (CLI) via dedicated out-of-band console port. D-View 6.0 is a Network Management System that allows for the central management of critical network characteristics such as availability, reliability, resilience, and security. CLI management of the switches is possible via console port and Telnet interfaces. This makes it possible to adjust basic settings, passwords, configuration files, and firmware with ease. 


Layer 3 traffic management

The DGS-1510 series supports advanced traffic management features, including static routing. In static routing, IP routes are manually entered into a routing table, which allows for communication between different user groups in different VLAN segments in a network. The switch can directly handle inter VLAN routing using multiple interfaces, making the network run faster and more efficiently. Because the switches can manage internal routing, the network router can be assigned to handle external traffic routing only. 


Energy saving

DGS-1510 switches are capable of conserving power without sacrificing operational performance or functionality by using D-Link Green 3.0 technology. Using the 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standard, the network will automatically decrease the power usage when traffic is low with no setup required. For environments not fully supporting the standard, DGS-1510 switches offer advanced power-saving settings including port shutoff, LED shutoff, and system hibernation based on custom scheduling profiles.

Furthermore, the DSCP markings on Ethernet packets enable different levels of service to be assigned to network traffic. As a result, these voice and video packets take precedence over other packets. In addition, with Bandwidth Control, network administrators can reserve bandwidth for important functions that require more bandwidth or might require high priority. 


Secure your network

D-Link's innovative safeguard engine protects the switches against traffic flooding caused by virus attacks. The switches also support 802.1X port-based authentication, allowing the network to be authenticated through external RADIUS servers. In addition, the Access Control List (ACL) feature enhances network security and helps to protect the internal IT network by screening ingress traffic based on MAC or IP addresses. The DGS-1510 series includes ARP Spoofing Prevention, which protects from attacks on the Ethernet network that may allow an intruder to sniff data frames, modify traffic, or bring traffic to a halt altogether by sending fake ARP messages to the network. To prevent ARP Spoofing attacks, the switch uses Packet Control ACLs to block invalid packets that contain fake ARP messages. For added security, the DHCP Server Screening feature screens rogue DHCP server packets from user ports to prevent unauthorised IP assignment. 


IPv6 ready

The DGS-1510 series is IPv6 ready and supports various IPv6 functions such as MLD Snooping, IPv6 ACL/QoS, and IMPBv6 to ensure seamless integration of next generation networks. The DGS-1510 series also supports a IPv4/v6 dual stack function that allows the switch to act as a bridge between IPv4 and IPv6 networks. Finally, all DGS-1510 series are certified to be IPv6 Ready Logo Phase 2, which guarantees interoperability for IPv6 environments. 


Versatile management

The DGS-1510 series provides a D-Link Network Assistant Utility and a web based management interface that enables administrators to remotely control their network down to the port level. The D-Link Network Assistant Utility allows customers to easily discover multiple D-Link SmartPro Switches within the same L2 network segment. With this utility, users do not need to change the IP address of their PC. It also simplifies the initial setup of the SmartPro Switches. Switches within the same L2 network segment that are connected to the user's PC are displayed on screen for instant access. This allows extensive switch configuration and basic setup of discovered devices including password changes and firmware upgrades. The DGS-1510 Series also supports D-View 6.0 and a fully featured Command Line Interface (CLI) via dedicated out-of-band console port. D-View 6.0 is a Network Management System that allows for the central management of critical network characteristics such as availability, reliability, resilience, and security. CLI management of the switches is possible via console port and Telnet interfaces. This makes it possible to adjust basic settings, passwords, configuration files, and firmware with ease. 


Layer 3 traffic management

The DGS-1510 series supports advanced traffic management features, including static routing. In static routing, IP routes are manually entered into a routing table, which allows for communication between different user groups in different VLAN segments in a network. The switch can directly handle inter VLAN routing using multiple interfaces, making the network run faster and more efficiently. Because the switches can manage internal routing, the network router can be assigned to handle external traffic routing only. 


Energy saving

DGS-1510 switches are capable of conserving power without sacrificing operational performance or functionality by using D-Link Green 3.0 technology. Using the 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standard, the network will automatically decrease the power usage when traffic is low with no setup required. For environments not fully supporting the standard, DGS-1510 switches offer advanced power-saving settings including port shutoff, LED shutoff, and system hibernation based on custom scheduling profiles.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) Support

The DGS-3630-52PC features Power over Ethernet, which allows PoE-powered devices to be powered by the switch through a standard Ethernet cable. It supports the IEEE 802.3af PoE and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standards, providing up to 30 W of power per port. PoE effectively reduces deployment time for PoE devices such as IP cameras, VoIP phones, and access points, and eliminates the cost for additional electrical cabling. It features a 370 W PoE power budget which can be increased to 740 W when outfitted with the DPS-700 redundant power supply, allowing the switches to power even more devices. Additionally, an extended Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) automatically negotiates and manages the power feed to IEEE 802.3at PoE+ powered devices for optimal power distribution.

The DIS-200G Series switches are housed in a highly resistant IP30-rated metal casing to protect them from harsh environmental conditions and withstand wide temperature range, vibrations and shock. The high electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) protects the DIS-200G Series from unwanted effects when operating in environments with strong electromagnetic interference. Meanwhile, the fanless design extends the life of the DIS-200G Series while also being able to operate in a wider temperature range of up to 65 °C. For increased flexibility, the DIS-200G Series can be mounted on a DIN rail or wall-mounted.

Traffic Shaping features guarantee bandwidth for these services even when the network is busy. L2 Multicast support enables the DGS-3130 Series to handle growing IPTV applications.

Host-based IGMP/MLD Snooping allows multiple multicast subscribers per physical interface while ISM VLAN allows the switches to send multicast streams in a multicast VLAN to save bandwidth, and to provide better security to the backbone network. The ISM VLAN profiles allow you to bind or replace the pre-defined multicast registration information to subscriber ports quickly and easily. Selective Q-in-Q enables you to be selective over VLAN traffic.

The DGS-3130-30PS has a 370W PoE power budget. Or utilise a total of 740W when adding a redundant power supply.

When stacking the DGS-3130-54TS/54S/54PS models, the stacking cost is 2 per unit so the maximum units per stack is 6. When stacking different models in the same stack, switches can be stacked up to a maximum of 12 stacking cost per stack.
