The Vertiv Avocent MergePoint Unity 2 MPU2-2032DAC-400 is a 32-port KVM-over-IP switch with two digital KVM paths for centralised access and management of connected servers and network devices. It supports remote access to UEFI and BIOS settings, virtual media, and local or remote browser-based management, allowing administrators to perform maintenance and troubleshooting without being physically present at the equipment. The 1U unit includes dual internal AC power supplies and supports VGA, DVI-I, DisplayPort and HDMI target video through compatible server interface modules.
The 32-port KVM-over-IP configuration provides centralised access to connected servers and other compatible devices. Administrators can access systems locally or remotely, helping with configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance tasks from a single management point.
Remote UEFI and BIOS access allows administrators to perform system configuration and hardware troubleshooting without travelling to the equipment location. This can also provide access during operating system startup when conventional network-based management tools may not be available.
Virtual media support allows remote administrators to access installation media and other files from connected management systems. This can be used for operating system deployments, software installations, patches and maintenance activities without requiring physical media at the server location.
The switch supports video resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 with 24-bit colour. Compatible server interface modules provide support for VGA, DVI-I, DisplayPort and HDMI target video connections.
Security features include Secure Boot, Vertiv-signed keys and TLS 1.3 to help protect remote management sessions and system integrity. Authentication support includes TACACS+, RADIUS and LDAP for integration with established access-control environments.
