The Ubiquiti UACC-SFP-Wizard is a dedicated optical module programming and diagnostics tool designed for fast, on-site reconfiguration, testing, and validation of SFP and QSFP transceivers. Built for installers and network professionals, it enables direct profile copying, health monitoring, and module recovery without relying on switch-side configuration changes.
The SFP Wizard removes vendor restrictions by allowing Ubiquiti optical modules to mirror the identity of third-party transceivers. By copying an optical profile from any supported module and writing it to a Ubiquiti module, installers can achieve compatibility across a wide range of switches without modifying switch settings.
Using a simple insert-and-select workflow, the tool copies EEPROM profile data from third-party SFP or QSFP modules and writes it directly to Ubiquiti modules. This enables rapid deployment in mixed-vendor environments and reduces troubleshooting time during installations.
The UACC-SFP-Wizard provides direct access to Digital Diagnostics Monitoring data, allowing users to view live metrics such as transmit and receive optical power, laser bias current, module temperature, and operational status. Diagnostic data can be read from both Ubiquiti and third-party modules.
For installation and testing purposes, the device can power up a module’s laser to perform link checks without connecting it to a switch. This allows quick validation of fiber paths and module functionality directly from the handheld unit.
Designed for field use, the SFP Wizard offers up to 75 minutes of continuous diagnostics for SFP transceivers or up to 35 minutes for QSFP modules. BLE connectivity and USB-C charging ensure easy pairing and quick recharging between jobs.
When a compatible Ubiquiti SFP module is inserted, the tool provides the option to erase any custom-written data and restore the module to its original factory configuration. This is managed directly through the UniFi mobile app for controlled recovery.
While core programming and diagnostics functions operate independently, the UniFi mobile app enables firmware updates for the SFP Wizard and supports recovery workflows for Ubiquiti optical modules. OTA updates ensure the device remains compatible with future module revisions.
The UACC-SFP-Wizard supports SFP, SFP+, SFP28, QSFP+, and QSFP28 optical modules. Modules are sold separately. UISP Fiber/GPON optical modules and the UniFi SFP+ to RJ45 adapter are not compatible with this tool.
