The Multi Switch ATS 16A is an advanced automatic transfer switch and power distribution unit designed to provide intelligent load management, remote monitoring, and dual-source power redundancy for network environments. Supporting dual 16A inputs with distributed IEC outputs, it enables seamless switching between two independent power sources such as UPS systems or mains supplies. Ideal for rack-mounted IT infrastructure, the unit ensures continuous uptime, load protection, and efficient power distribution for up to eight connected devices.
The Multi Switch ATS continuously monitors two independent power sources and automatically transfers connected loads between them. If one source becomes unstable or fails, the system switches to the alternative supply without interrupting operation.
Each output group is protected against overloads and short circuits. If a fault occurs on one connected device, only the affected socket group is disconnected, ensuring that remaining equipment continues to operate normally.
The unit distributes power across up to eight connected users, allowing flexible allocation between dual input sources. Load demand is displayed via the integrated LCD interface for real-time monitoring.
The SNMP-enabled version supports remote supervision via PowerNetGuard and PowerShield³ software, enabling real-time monitoring, control, and diagnostics across connected IT infrastructure.
Designed for standard 19-inch cabinet installation, the Multi Switch ATS integrates easily into server racks and network enclosures, making it suitable for structured IT environments.
The system can operate from two UPS units, dual mains supplies, or a combination of both, even when sources differ in size or type, providing maximum deployment flexibility.
Engineered for high-availability environments, the Multi Switch ATS ensures uninterrupted power delivery for networked systems, reducing downtime risks in mission-critical applications.
Multi Switch is a user-friendly and proven way to provide full protection against both load and mains supply faults. It delivers direct power distribution to 8 IEC connector sockets from 2 input power sources (2x mains supply, 2x UPS, or a combination).
2U automatic transfer switch delivers higher reliability than a single UPS can by offering redundant power, seamlessly transferring between input sources in the event of any issue without impacting your connected equipment.
Multi Switch distributes power to connected equipment from 2 independent inputs. These power sources can be 2 different mains supplies, 2 separate uninterruptible power supplies (including UPSs of different size or type), or a combination of mains and UPS.
In the event of a load failure, such as a short circuit, MSW automatically disconnects the group of sockets connected to the load, which prevents you from switching off other loads.
If either of the 2 input sources falls outside of tolerance levels, Multi Switch automatically transfers the load to the second power source. If the sources are in phase, switching is almost instantaneous (< 8 msec). Even if they aren’t in phase, transfer is rapid (below the 21 msec hold-up time specified in the Server System Infrastructure (SSI) standard), so it won’t have any negative impact on the connected equipment.
The 8 IEC sockets limits the need for additional PDUs. While MSW incorporates connectivity slots that enable LAN connections and remote management through software such as PowerShield³.
