The NETGEAR GS728TX-300EUS is a 24-port Smart Managed Gigabit Ethernet switch providing high-speed connectivity for business and professional network environments. It features 24 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 ports together with four dedicated 1000/10G SFP+ fibre uplink ports, providing flexible copper and fibre connectivity. VLAN routing, static routing, access controls, QoS, multicast management and link aggregation provide a range of features for managing and monitoring network traffic.
The switch provides 24 copper RJ45 ports supporting 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet connections. Auto-negotiation and Auto Uplink allow compatible network devices to establish suitable connections without requiring manual cable configuration.
Four dedicated SFP+ ports support 1000Mbps and 10Gbps fibre connections, providing high-speed uplink options between the switch and other network equipment. These ports can be used for fibre backbone connections, switch interconnection and high-bandwidth network links.
The switch provides advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 Lite functionality including VLAN routing, static routes, dynamic VLAN assignment, multicast management and link aggregation. Support for up to 512 VLANs allows network traffic to be separated into logical groups.
Access control features provide additional management of network traffic and connected devices. IEEE 802.1X authentication, dynamic VLAN assignment and denial-of-service prevention help administrators control access and protect network resources.
Quality of Service features allow network traffic to be prioritised according to port settings, IEEE 802.1p priority markings and DSCP values. This provides control over traffic handling for applications such as voice, video and data.
IGMP and MLD snooping help manage multicast traffic across the network by limiting multicast transmission to the ports that require it. This is useful for networks carrying multicast-based applications and services.
The switch provides a web-based management interface for configuration and monitoring. NETGEAR Insight cloud management is also available as an optional management service, providing remote access to compatible network installations.
IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet helps reduce power consumption when network activity is lower. The switch uses an internal power supply and has a maximum power consumption of 26W without PoE.
