The U042-025 cable uses an active repeater to break free from the standard 5-meter USB distance limit, allowing you to place your printers, external drives, and other peripherals up to 25 feet away from your computer (7.6 meters). Backward compatible to USB 1.1. Plug-and-play, Windows and macOS compatible. If your device requires more than 150mA of power, it will either need to have its own power supply (not included) or to be plugged into a powered USB 2.0 hub (such as U222-007-R) that is connected to the U042-025.
The U042-025 features a bus-powered signal booster (no external power source required) in the middle of the cable that extends the range of the USB signal. This enables USB peripheral devices such as printers, scanners and card readers to be located up to 25 feet from the host computer with no loss in signal quality. Other convenient features like plug-and-play require no complicated setup procedures and a hot-swap capability allows for switching between connected devices without needing to power down the computer.
With its superior design and construction plus data transfer rates of up to 480 Mbps, the U042-025 is ideal for multimedia and other high-end applications that require fast, clear transmission, free of line noise and other interference, over extended distances. The U042-025 also provides 150mA of power to a connected device. If a device requires more than 150mA of power, it will either need to have its own power supply or be plugged into a powered USB 2.0 hub.
