The Zyxel IAP500BE-EU0101F is a BE5000 4-stream WiFi 7 industrial access point that provides high-speed dual-radio wireless connectivity for demanding industrial environments. It delivers up to 688Mbps on 2.4GHz and 4324Mbps on 5GHz, with 2x2 MU-MIMO and support for channel widths up to 240MHz. Its fanless metal housing, wide operating temperature range and redundant dual DC power inputs make it well suited to warehouses, factories and other industrial areas where dependable wireless connectivity is required.
The dual-radio WiFi 7 platform combines 2.4GHz and 5GHz connectivity with 2x2 MU-MIMO. The 5GHz radio supports speeds of up to 4324Mbps, while the 2.4GHz radio provides up to 688Mbps. Support for channel widths up to 240MHz provides additional capacity for compatible WiFi 7 devices.
Smart Mesh combines mesh networking with Multi-Link Operation to provide a dual-radio wireless backhaul. Zyxel states that this approach can increase throughput by up to 40% in its laboratory comparison, although actual performance varies according to the installation and surrounding conditions. Wireless bridge and fast roaming features are also available for flexible network deployment.
The fanless metal enclosure provides quiet operation and supports use in industrial environments. The access point operates from -25°C to 65°C and includes protection features such as 6kV lightning protection and 15kV ESD protection. The supplied mounting options include DIN-rail installation, with wall mounting and enclosed-cabinet deployment also supported.
The IAP500BE supports IEEE 802.3at PoE with a specified power draw of 24W. It also includes redundant dual DC inputs supporting 12V-48V, providing an alternative power arrangement for industrial installations where continuous network availability is important. Reverse polarity protection is included with the DC power inputs.
NebulaFlex Pro gives network administrators a choice of management modes, including Nebula cloud management, on-premises controller management and standalone operation. The product is supplied with a one-year Nebula Pro Pack licence, providing access to advanced cloud management features.
A 1/2.5GbE LAN port provides the wired network connection, allowing the access point to make use of multi-gigabit Ethernet infrastructure. The unit supports IPv6, VLANs, WMM and U-APSD, along with security features including WPA3, IEEE 802.1X/RADIUS authentication, L2 isolation, MAC filtering and rogue access point detection.
