The Allied Telesis AT-GS980MX/52-30 is a high-capacity, rack-mountable Layer 3 Lite managed switch designed for scalable and resilient network edge deployments. Part of the CentreCOM GS980MX Series, this stackable switch delivers 48 Gigabit access ports and high-speed 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplinks, combined with advanced management, security, and resiliency features—making it an ideal foundation for enterprise, education, and service-provider edge networks.
The AT-GS980MX/52-30 provides forty-eight Gigabit Ethernet access ports, enabling reliable, wire-speed connectivity for desktops, servers, and network-attached devices. This high port density makes it well suited to environments requiring large numbers of wired connections at the network edge.
Four integrated SFP+ uplink ports deliver high-bandwidth 10 Gigabit connectivity to aggregation or core network layers. Support for a wide range of fibre and direct-attach modules ensures flexible deployment across different distances and network architectures.
Using Allied Telesis Virtual Chassis Stacking (VCStack™), up to four GS980MX switches can operate as a single logical unit. This simplifies configuration and management, enables rapid failover, and allows the network to scale seamlessly without increasing operational complexity.
The switch supports Layer 3 Lite features including static routing, RIP for IPv4 and IPv6, and Equal Cost Multi-Path (ECMP) routing. These capabilities allow efficient traffic segmentation and routing closer to end devices, reducing reliance on the core network.
Powered by the AlliedWare Plus operating system, the AT-GS980MX/52-30 integrates with Autonomous Management Framework Plus (AMF Plus) and Vista Manager EX. Zero-touch provisioning, automated recovery, NETCONF/RESTCONF support, and a web-based GUI help streamline deployment and ongoing administration.
Enterprise-grade security features include IEEE 802.1X authentication, access control lists, DHCP snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, and secure management protocols. Advanced Quality of Service ensures prioritisation of voice, video, and real-time traffic for consistent application performance.
Designed for high availability, the switch includes features such as EPSRing™, loop protection, link aggregation, and fast stack failover. Housed in a 1RU rack-mountable chassis, it also supports eco-friendly modes that allow unused ports and LEDs to be disabled to reduce power consumption.
