The RoHS directive
Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive
The RoHS directive requires harmful chemical substances to be eliminated. These substances could include lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.
This is particularly important for circuit breakers and wiring devices that are found in homes and offices.
The REACh regulation

Schneider complies with the strictest regulations when sourcing and using chemical substances that are potentially harmful to either human health or the environment.

End-of-life instructions include complete guidance on how to responsibly dispose of Schneider Electric products. This also includes how to reuse parts of the equipment for other purposes to create a more circular economy.
