The event is set to be bigger and better than ever, with a range of exciting prizes up for grabs, including cash prizes and medals.

Since its inception, the Miles of Miles event has been dedicated to encouraging athletes of all abilities to take part and “have a go”. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a seasoned runner or have never set foot on a track before, this event is the perfect opportunity to start or rekindle your passion for athletics.

One of the highlights of this year’s event is the incorporation of the first Essex AA’s 1 Mile Championships in over half a century. This means that participants have the chance to become the first Essex 1 Mile Champion in their age group in decades.

Cash prizes are on offer for the fastest male and female in each age group, as well as medals for the top three finishers in each race. But that’s not all – there are also cash prizes of £500 each for the fastest male to run a sub-4 minute mile and the fastest female to run a sub-4.37 minute mile. These prizes have never been won on the Melbourne Stadium track before, and no Essex athlete has ever run a sub-4 minute mile on Essex soil, so there’s a chance to make history.

The event is open to everyone of all abilities, and no club affiliation is required. Whether you’re an experienced runner or just starting out, the Miles of Miles event is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself and have fun in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Parking

There is Free parking at Melbourne Athletics Stadium for approximately 200 vehicles including accessible spaces. Unless otherwise stated there are no parking restrictions in the area but we would urge everyone to be considerate to the local residents.

Please follow the instructions of the car park marshals at all times.

Please car share or use public transport, where possible.  The nearest train station is Chelmsford, which is about two miles from the stadium.
