5 steps to prevent downtime

Don’t wait for unexpected power failure. Unexpected power issues don’t follow a schedule – but prevention of downtime with Eaton is simple.

We’ve identified 5 steps you can take to keep operations running smoothly and prevent unnecessary downtime. We recommend checking off this list below:

5 Steps to Prevent Downtime

1. Protect Critical Equipment

Ensure servers, network switches, firewalls, and storage devices are connected to a reliable UPS – not just a standard power strip.

2. Check UPS Health & Battery Status

Verify that your UPS is reporting normal operation and that batteries are healthy and within their expected lifespan.

3. Confirm Graceful Shutdown Settings

Make sure shutdown software is configured so systems power down safely in the event of an extended outage.

4. Allow for Environmental Changes

Temperature fluctuations over the holiday period can affect batteries – ensure your UPS is operating within recommended conditions.

5. Enable Monitoring & Alerts

Remote monitoring ensures you’re notified of any issues, even when no one is in the office.
