Wireless Connectivity
The WG302 is fully compatible with the IEEE 802.11g wireless standard, it can be set to 54 Mbps or dynamic 108 Mbps for even faster, extended wire-free connectivity. This business-class wireless access point also delivers functionality for point-to-point and point-multi-point bridging and repeater modes to extend your wireless capability or join a wired Ethernet network. The featured 19 dBm transmits power and two (detachable) high gain 5 dBi omni-directional antenna provides optimal range and throughput. Support for NETGEAR’s ProSafe™ antennas for expanded wireless capacity and range.

Autocell™ RF Technology
The WG302 business-class wireless access point features Autocell™ RF technology: RF pattern are monitored and automatically tuned to balance signals across the office network. This approach minimises interference and optimised WLAN performance to give the best coverage and signal strength possible. Autocell™ enabled WG302’s provide dynamic transmit power control, automatic channel selection and load balancing when used in conjunction with the WAG511 ProSafe™ 802.11a/b/g Dual Band Wireless Laptop PC Card, to further optimise WLAN performance.

Managed & Power over Ethernet
Integrated 802.3af-based Power over Ethernet support means that there is no need to locate the wireless AP close to a electrical power output or trail cables across the office floor: Power can be transmitted over the Ethernet network instead. The WG302 also supports SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and associated network management software (including NETGEAR’s NMS100). Users can configure, update and monitor multiple WG302’s simultaneously via FTP, whilst console port facilities support local configuration and monitoring.

Safe & Secure
The WG302 access point complies with the best available security and wireless data encryption ensures secure business communication: 802.11i ready WPA that provides enhanced wireless networking security. WPA and 802.1x support enables mutual authentication to ensure that only authorised clients associate with corporate RADIUS servers. The WG302 also supports MAC authentication with 256-user Access Control List (ACL) to limit network access to specified users and VPN pass-through for private communications between head office and branches or remote home workers.
