TP-Link is officially a leading name in ethernet switch sales

TP-Link was one of the biggest sellers of ethernet switches in 2016, according to analysis from the International Data Corporation (IDC).

The IT intelligence provider said that China-based TP-Link earned the number two ranking for the year after selling 68 million for 11.50 per cent market share in 2016.

After shifting 6.6 million ports in 2009 with a 2.01 per cent market share, this represented phenomenal market share growth of 472 per cent in just seven years.

The company also achieved impressive figures in other categories, selling the largest quantities of fixed-unmanaged switches in 2016 - 64.8 million ports for a 26.2 per cent market share.

Andy Chen, TP-Link’s director of international business, said: "We are happy to see our continued growth in the industry. It indicates several takeaways, one of which that people are choosing more and more to be reliably smart with their networks.

“It also motivates us to push further to make sure that our products and solutions are innovative, dependable and available to everyone and their unique needs."

Although TP-Link's rapid ascension in the ethernet switch market is unprecedented in the industry, it comes as no surprise. Robust pre-sales services, such as free on-site network analysis and recommendations, ensure complete client satisfaction.

Additionally, channel partnerships across several industries have introduced more businesses to TP-Link's reliable wired and wireless connectivity with a portfolio of managed, unmanaged and smart ethernet switches.

In a statement, the company has added that a dedication to service has led it to diverse partnerships and lauded solutions across the globe.
