Centrally Managed

When working in conjunction with D-Link Unified Controllers, the DWL-6610AP can be centrally managed. This allows for a large number of APs to be deployed and managed easily and efficiently. Once the APs are discovered by the controller, the administrator can push configuration to them as a group, instead of doing so individually. Additionally, Radio Frequency (RF) resource management allows wireless coverage to be managed centrally, proving the best coverage possible for wireless clients. Self-Configuring Cluster

For small businesses that need to deploy multiple APs but lack the resources for complex network management, the DWL-6610AP self-configuring cluster allows a small number of DWL-6610AP access points to be set to form a self-configuring cluster. Once the administrator configures one access point, the same configuration can then be applied to all remaining APs, making setting up your wireless business network a breeze.

Smart Design

Band Steering technology

With band steering, the DWL-6610AP detects whether or not the wireless client is dual-band capable, and if so, it pushes the client to connect to the less congested 5 Ghz band. It does this by actively blocking the client’s attempts to associate with the 2.4 Ghz network.

Versatility Built as standard

Whether you intend to use a single Access Point or roll out a large corporate network, the DWL-6610AP coupled with a D-Link Wireless Controller or Unified Switch makes managing your wireless network simple.

Secure and Green Design

The DWL-6610AP has a wireless scheduler feature, which turns off wireless functionality when it isn’t needed, saving power and increasing network security.

With dual-band technology, the DWL-6610APE provides high-performance connections over two bands, so wireless clients can stream media faster and further than before using existing devices Centrally Managed

When working in conjunction with D-Link Unified Controllers, the DWL-6610APE can be centrally managed.

For small businesses that need to deploy multiple APs but lack the resources for complex network management, the DWL-6610APE self-configuring cluster allows a small number of DWL-6610APE access points to be set to form a self-configuring cluster. Once the administrator configures one access point, the same configuration can then be applied to all remaining APs, making setting up your wireless business network a breeze.

Smart Design

he DWL-6610APE can be mounted easily onto any wall or ceiling without looking out of place in an office or home. Enclosed in a plenum-rated UL2043 certified housing, the DWL-6610APE adheres to strict fire codes for placement in air passageways.

Band Steering technology

With band steering, the DWL-6610APE detects whether or not the wireless client is dual-band capable, and if so, it pushes the client to connect to the less congested 5 Ghz band. It does this by actively blocking the client’s attempts to associate with the 2.4 Ghz network.

Versatility Built as standard

Whether you intend to use a single Access Point or roll out a large corporate network, the DWL-6610APE coupled with a D-Link Wireless Controller or Unified Switch makes managing your wireless network simple.

Secure and Green Design

The DWL-6610APE has a wireless scheduler feature, which turns off wireless functionality when it isn’t needed, saving power and increasing network security.

Improved throughput and coverage with three bands. Reduces co-channel interference, bringing more reliability in high-density areas.. 802.11k Fast Roaming1

IAllows wireless clients to move freely, jumping from AP to AP without losing connectivity. Automatic Radio Frequency (RF) Management

Greatly reduces RF interference and enables denser AP deployments Centrally Managed

Used as a standalone wireless access point, self-configuring cluster or managed centrally via a D-Link Wireless Controller
Greater Speeds and Reliable Connectivity

Combined wireless speeds of up to 2,200 Mbps* over 3 wireless bands for improved business network speeds.

Wired link aggregation2 allows two Gigabit Ethernet ports to be linked together and act as a single port doubling the access point’s available bandwidth and maximising the overall throughput.

Increase Network Efficiency

With support for MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output), the DWL-7620AP simultaneously communicates with multiple clients using multiple antennas. This allows the access point to utilise the spectrum more efficiently and significantly increase the network capacity. The 2 x 2 MU-MIMO takes full advantage of all streams to serve more wireless clients, dramatically improving wireless performance.

Rapid Deployments

It can be ceiling mounted or wall mounted to provide the best wireless coverage. The built-in Power over Ethernet (PoE) port makes deployments faster and means it can be installed in areas without power outlets.

Robust Management

When working in conjunction with D-Link Unified Wireless Controllers (DWC-1000, and DWC-2000), multiple DWL-8620AP units in the Wi-Fi network can be easily and efficiently centrally managed.

Automatic Radio Frequency (RF) Management

Radio Frequency (RF) resource management1 allows wireless coverage to be managed automatically, providing the best possible coverage for wireless clients.

When access points are deployed in close proximity to each other, there may be interference between channels if RF management is not implemented. When the DWL-8620AP senses a neighbouring AP nearby, it will automatically select a non-interfering channel.

This greatly reduces RF interference and allows you to deploy APs more densely. To further minimise interference, when a nearby AP is on the same channel, the DWL-8620AP will automatically adjust its transmission power1. If an AP goes down, others will increase their transmission power to expand coverage.

Band Steering

It places clients on the optimal wireless band to avoid congestion and allows for smooth streaming of video, seamless browsing, and fast downloads speeds.

Airtime Fairness
Ensures equal airtime given to each client. Increases performance even if slower devices are connected.

802.11k Fast Roaming1
Allows the wireless client to roam seamlessly between access points.

802.1p Quality of Service (QoS)
Supports 802.1p QoS for enhanced throughput and better performance of time-sensitive traffic like VoIP and streaming DSCP.

Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM)
In the event of network congestion, time-sensitive traffic can be given priority ahead of other traffic.

*Maximum wireless signal rate derived from IEEE standard 802.11n and 802.11ac specifications. Actual data throughput will vary. Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead, lower actual data throughput rate. Environmental factors may adversely affect wireless signal range.
1. This feature is available when Unified AP is used in conjunction with D-Link’s line of Unified Wireless Controllers.
2. Support static Link Aggregation (LAG).

Faster Performance 802.11k Fast Roaming D-Link Smart Antenna   Combined wireless speeds of up to 1.3 Gbps* with 802.11ac Wave 2 technology   Allows wireless clients to move freely, jumping from AP to AP without losing connectivity.   Improved throughput and coverage by reducing co-channel interference, bringing more reliability in high-density areas. Band steering Smart, secure & green Limited Lifetime Warranty   Automatically handles busy traffic so the fastest, least congested band is used by each client.   The wireless scheduler feature, which turns off wireless functionality when it isn’t needed, saves power and increases network security.   Register and you’re fully protected with limited lifetime warranty support from one of the global leaders in the industry. Smart Antenna Technology

D-Link’s Smart Antenna technology processes algorithms used to identify spatial signal signatures such as Direction Of Arrival, and uses them to calculate beamforming vectors which are then used to target the wireless client and achieve the best possible throughput.

The fast channel selection feature scans all channels and rapidly selects the one with the least interference. And the Null Steering capability curtails the power in the direction of interference to mitigate its influence. With these capabilities the D-Link Smart Antenna strengthens the connection reliability in real-time and delivers an optimised wireless user experience.

Greater Speed & Connectivity

It provides unparalleled connectivity by using the 802.11ac Wave 2 standard. High combined data rates of 1267 Mbps (867 Mbps for 802.11ac and 400 Mbps for 802.11n) can be delivered over the air and Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) together with 802.1p Quality of Service (QoS) can give time-sensitive traffic like Voice over IP (VoIP) or video streaming a higher priority ahead of other traffic.

Efficiency multiplied

Support for 802.11ac Wave 2 MU-MIMO technology enables the access point to communicate with multiple clients simultaneously, resulting in significantly improved network capacity and throughput.

Dual-Band Wireless for efficient performance

The 2.4 GHz and high-speed 5 GHz AC channels and band steering technology makes your business network flexible by automatically placing clients on the optimal band for their needs like casual web browsing, and data-hungry operations like video streams and large file transfers.

Airtime fairness ensures that equal airtime is given to each client, providing improved performance even when slower devices are connected. Centrally Manage your Wireless Network

When deployed in combination with D-Link Wireless Controllers (DWC-1000/DWC-2000), up to 1,024 DWL-6620APS access points can be centrally managed. Once the APs are discovered by the controller, any configuration can be pushed to them as a group, instead of doing so individually. Additionally, Radio Frequency (RF) resource management allows wireless coverage to be managed centrally, providing the best coverage possible for wireless clients.

It also supports Link Aggregation, which allows two Gigabit Ethernet ports to be linked together to act as a single port to double the available bandwidth and maximise the access point’s overall throughput.

Increase Network Efficiency

The DWL-8620AP’s 4 x 4 MU-MIMO takes full advantage of all streams to serve more wireless clients, dramatically improving wireless performance.

MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output) simultaneously communicates with multiple clients using multiple antennas. This allows the access point to utilise the spectrum more efficiently and significantly increase the network capacity.
