Force 10 Networks has announced it has expanded its S-Series family of access switches to allow consumers greater flexibility in building and optimising their networks.
Along with the new switches, the range comprises the S25P, S50N, S50V and the S2410 which the firm claims provides customers with several options for adding to their wiring closets and data centres.
Sachi Sambandan, vice president of engineering at the company, believes the switches are necessary to cater for the requirements of different users.
"As the network becomes more valuable, it is increasingly clear that there is no one solution that fits for all customers, but what all customers need is reliability throughout their network," he said.
In addition, the new S25 switches support FTOS, the modular Force 10 operating system the organisation believes delivers inherent reliability and network control.
The company claims it has pioneered advances in high-density gigabit Ethernet and 10 gigabit Ethernet switching, routing and security.
