Digilink, a leading network equipment manufacturer, has launched a new high-density patch panel which is aimed at the growing data centre sector.
According to the firm, the innovative patch panel design not only saves server rack space, which is becoming more of a premium as data traffic levels increase, but ensures it fits in a standard 19-inch server cabinet.
The one unit device offers users 24 ports, which use shielded connectors and claims to deliver uninterrupted data at high speeds.
"The design of this high density premium patch panel makes installation fast and simple. The head to head jack assembly allows rear cable management with ease," the company added.
Earlier this year, 3M introduced a range of high-density fibre optic patch panels for use in heavy industry.
The company said that the devices were originally designed for use in the military and petrochemicals sector and are already in widespread use.
