Network equipment manufacturer Belden has introduced a new range of Ethernet managed switches aimed at businesses' mission critical operations.
The company's RS22 and RS32 gigabit devices are part of Belden's OpenRail Switch product family.
According to Belden, the new RS range has a number of devices that come with optional Fast Ethernet ports, four of which support power over Ethernet as well as data transmission.
The ports can also be designated as standard RJ45connectors or as fibre optic lead I/Os.
Belden's RS range uses fan-less cooling technology, which will drive down power consumption in data centres, and they can be controlled remotely through a standard web browser.
Recently, Belden showcased a new range of environmentally-friendly pre-terminated Cat cables.
The company claimed that because installation contractors do not have to terminate the plug and play cables manually, installation times can be reduced by as much as 90 per cent.
