Adtran debuts new switch series

Adtran debuts new switch seriesA new series of switches targeted at the small-to-medium business market has been debuted by Adtran.

The network equipment manufacturer has reportedly introduced the new NetVanta 1000 switches, which include three new models - the NetVanta 1534, 1234 and 1238.

According to TMCnet's Small Business VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) Community, all the models include an inbuilt wireless controller and come with optional Power over Ethernet-capable networking devices.

Each switch also features cable diagnostics to help detect Ethernet cable faults. They will be available for purchase later this month, according to reports.

Adtran offers a number of software and firmware solutions - such as voice data, internet communications and videos - for small and medium-sized businesses, larger enterprises, wireless carriers and wireline carriers.

Its portfolio of more than 600 solutions are used across fibre, copper and wireless network infrastructures in the US and globally.

The firm is based in the US city of Huntsville, Alabama.
