Network equipment manufacturer Siemens has announced that it is expanding its X-300 Industrial Ethernet Switches range.
The firm is set to launch the Scalance X-300EEC, which will provide users with energy automation.
EEC stands for Enhanced Environmental Conditions and Siemens is targeting heavy industry with its low and high-voltage switching gear.
The Scalance X-300EEC product line includes a server rack mountable 19-inch unit, making it a compact switch, the company states.
A wide range of power supplies can be dealt with and the products have a special coating so they can deal with high levels of ambient air pollution.
The equipment comes in a variety of configurations which feature 10, 100, or 1,000Mbps RJ45connectors and 100 or 1,000Mbps FOC ports.
All versions of the X-300EEC are industry certified and capable of time synchronisation and high-precision microsecond accuracy.
In related news, PathWay has introduced a new switch that allows users to share a single RJ45 interface device with four other devices over standard Cat6 cable.
